there are some distinct differences in the storylines of LEYLOST and CANON genshin that i will try to put as succinctly as possible in this post.

aether fucking sucks. all my homies hate aether.

lumine is fine but her moral backbone is a chocolate eclair.

xayi is the first, last, and ONLY masc-presenting mirror maiden.

capitano is still, in a way of speaking, alive. (we still have to discuss how, and why the honor aspect isn't lost on us.)

tartaglia is still his weirdo self /pos. he just has some unresolved issues.

wanderer answers to "hat guy" ONLY to kids, such as klee.

klee recognizes alice as mom still, but is very sad about it.

kaeya and diluc are STRICTLY brothers.

diluc and collei are adoptive siblings.

diluc's father is an ex-harbinger (from fan theory alone).

pierro and dottore are perpetually (one eyebrow raised) at each other, and pierro doesn't fund everything he does.

the tsaritsa funded 60% of dottore's research when pierro did not agree to some of the research's handling. now it is 80% with agreement and help from pierro.

paimon is a whole person, but retains some ability to 'fly' though she would argue is more of a 'float', despite retaining complete ability to move in any direction. (she argues floating is the word because the process of 'flight' is too slow to be useful when not focusing on it.)

paimon's flight mechanic is concentration based. past a certain threshold, she must retain complete attention on it or fall from the air regardless of how high up she is. as such she does not like to go much higher than the akademiya's third floor railings around untrusted company.

andrii (stellafortunae) is the current/sixth descender.

his twin sister, laurain (constellainfinitum), is the previous/fifth.

lumine resumes primary control over the body when laurain is in teyvat, and often does not share the memories with laurain. it is unknown the intent behind this - however, it does not seem outright malicious, if it is at all.

zephyr (zodiac--muses) is the last known (willing) holder of the LUMEN vision, with the others being eerie (also known as caz) and erik (also known as echo).

andrii had the delusion forced onto him, but later reclaimed it as a proper vision with nascien and nahida's help processing his hate of dottore and fear of himself/what he's become.

mondstadt, liyue and inazuma had completely different storylines when the current descender had arrived. post inazuma, it resumed primarily being normal. sort of.

mondstadt is the most trusting of andrii and laurain, but refuses to let lumine in the city.

liyue will accept both of the twins, but they're both bound by contract to not interfere on affairs that they're not directly asked to help (or harm) in by someone of high authority.

inazuma is a case-by-case work-related based. others are allowed to come and go as they please, but will fight tooth and nail to resist against the twins should they show any signs of becoming the previous descender twins who ruined everything for them further.

i want so badly to tag my dm for many of my campaigns, but he's mostly just hanging out on a personal. so! i will rattle my long term friend ─ @constellaeinfinitum.

nia is the most lovely person you'll ever have the chance to meet. she's always scared of being the one who scares people away, mind, but she's a sweetheart and has so many unique takes on both ocs and canons. her favorite to roleplay is hatsune miku from an au where she has a synthetic body (that one of my characters made for her!) and is able to experience what humans do properly! there's also some campaign characters and some other vocaloids and stuff.

i really enjoy listening to her get excited, and the way she knows so much about destiny and skyrim and even genshin sometimes baffles me (but then again, hsr lore achievement whore here). she's a sweetheart who deserves a reason to stay on tumblr and around people constantly. (psst, go give her love, she's going through some rough patches irl.)

his mirth, though, was palpable through the sense of how his usual bubbly and bright smile softened, the look of open cheer residing into a normal jovial one. he seemed happy, truly happy, for the time being. even with his mildly annoying insults being flung the open space's way, he seemed pleased with the fact that someone had thought of him.

it's a soft laughter that titters out of the heartless woman. oh, her darling boy, discovering all the things he loves about the worlds he could never reach before they were forced to leave. oh, her sweet child, beginning to the love the worlds that demanded so much of them. oh, little kit, how your vulpine guardian would end the world for you.

he had been rambling for a moment now, knowing jetsam would understand the feeling of loss in a way that wasn't... juliet, or gwen, or the others. the feeling of loss so soul deep that it feels as if your very being is shattered from the grief of it all, and the feeling of believing that if you stopped moving at any point, you'd crumble to pieces where you stopped, not wanting to get back up again.

the only thing that he hopes none of them experience - at least, in terms of juliet, never again - but the feeling of dying. he still doesn't feel like himself. he's not sure he ever will. he's not sure how he can be good enough for anyone, when he wasn't enough before, when he was himself.

and then there's fingers curling through his claws, and multicolored eyes look up towards jetsam with a curious but knowing look. he's no fool, he's noticing the signs faster than most, or well - most of his family at least. ace and aryin, they were always the most dense with feelings. aryin only slightly worse than ace himself. and that in and of itself was quite an achievement.

"Are you not afraid?" he asks with a curious whisper, not looking away from jetsam's face. ( don't let go. please don't leave me alone, i don't want to die like this. ) their markings have worsened over the years of learning how to be a mage with zee; the black along his arm reaching up to his midbicep and the pale white-gold reaching up to his near elbow at this point. at some point, eventually, he will stop being himself. "Does my appearance not frighten you?" ( do you not fear a monster in the dark? )

there's a soft puff of something akin to indignation at the young boy's admittance of how utterly safe he feels around someone like him. was it true, what they say about him? in part, perhaps. he wouldn't deny his ability to cause harm. but then again, that was the difference between gentle and harmless, as another man they met once said; when you're harmless, you can't do shit - but when you're gentle, you choose not to do shit.

rose red gaze flickers to the defiant boy's left arm, a pang of guilt in his chest as he remembers the in and out way he was sleeping at that time, trying to avoid something like that happening. ( does he know? ) he wonders if lance could ever understand what it's like, to sacrifice everything - your life, your love, your name - for a cosmos that does not care about you, simply because you know it will be better when you do. he hopes lance never does understand.

one clawed hand rests against the changeling's head, brushing his fingers through his white-blond hair with such care that his touch feels like the haunting breath of a ghost. ( he has already hurt lance once, he'd like to avoid it further beyond that. )

"Hello, Jetsam." his voice, despite its exhaustion, is gentle - soft. he has known jetsam since they were a teenager, and jetsam has known luka since his years of being a relatively new doctor. they have known each other for a long time, and for a little while longer, he has known bosun.

"Yes, yes, I know, I'm workin' a lo' lately. Sorry 'bout t'at." he says as there's a gentle meeting of foreheads, aware of the way that jetsam shows the concern and affection towards someone they care for. "I just need to finish t'is las' tincture."
