The warning, paired with the outstretched hand futilely reaching toward the other, slowly died on Kairi's lips as she slowed from a frantic run to bemused trot. The Heartless, which should have been attacking the man with zero hesitation, was instead acting more like a pet cat, nuzzling and butting its head up against the man's hand.

What?

The rest of his words took another moment to sink in, and Kairi came to a complete halt as she listened to him. "Wha-- huh?" The Heartless was a familiar? A pet? It had a name?

It's name was Itty?

"A... a friendly Heartless?" From the way it was clinging to the stranger's shirt, Kairi saw no reason to not believe it. But... she had never seen, nor even heard, of something like this before. Heartless were always just... heartless. Mindless, even; the only one capable of true thought had been Ansem.

"How... how did you find a friendly Heartless? How do you know about Heartless, anyways? And a familiar?" Kairi gave a shake of her head before she frowned at the stranger. "Who are you?"

Finally, someone who looked like they belonged. Not to mention the subconscious kinship from the horns and the lion like parts on them. Like talking to people in a new place wearing a shirt from a show you like.

But also-- they didn't look like any of the locals, who all were alot less humanoid and more creature-esque. "Now t'ere duck, ain't ye a wee bit young tae beh wonderin' ooh here alone?"

There was already a rather copious amount of cursing at the storm when he 'felt' the tugging, on guard before he realized that it was just a stranger. Or, well, at least not an enemy. Normally Theo wouldn't have paid them any mind. Just found somewhere else to hunker down, or gone home. It didn't take much to make to him change his mind, bolting underneath the overhang once the hail started to fall. "Son of a fucking bitch..." He ran his fingers through his hair, pushing it out of his face as he blinked a few times. Trying to get the water out of his eyes. "Thanks. Forecast didn't say a damn thing about the storm."

Diamond relaxed as the stranger made it (more or less) safely to shelter, letting his targeting spell fade away.

"Came up in a hell of a hurry, too," Diamond agreed with a grimace. He'd already revealed his telepathy; he gestured, pulling the water away from the stranger and leaving them dry with a simple spell.

"You alright? How bad is the hail?" It had sounded small at first, but escalated quickly, and at this point the loud banging against the metal of the overhang made it hard to make out any more useful nuance to the sounds.
