A few months ago I performed for the I Hear Voices series at Constellation, Chicago IL which features 3 Chicago artists a month, performing a stripped down set, plus a video they make of each artist. I was honored to share the bill with Sima Cunningham and Gabe Lebowitz of Dastardly.

Rob Jacobs Celebrates New LP at Chicago's Constellation on Friday, March 6, 2015

International Anthem is proud to present a performance in celebration of our fourth release, Rob Jacobs, by multi-dimensional multi-instrumental songwriter/vocalist Rob Jacobs on Friday March 6, 2015 at Chicago progressive music hub Constellation.

Rob Jacobs is most known to the DIY scene for his work with Wei Zhongle, a shifting new music ensemble that has been making records and touring for several years. In 2014, Jacobs assembled a band consisting of Andrew Clinkman (guitar), David Allen (bass guitar) and Phil Sudderberg (drums) to perform music he self-recorded and released eponymously the year prior.

The self-titled album, to be issued on vinyl and cassette on February 10, 2015 is, by Jacobs' standards, pop though the music comes from an unknown place and remains true to its foreign identity. This performance at Constellation will culminate an 11-date East Coast tour by Jacobs and his band in support of the album’s release.

Also performing will be guitarist Matt Schneider performing freshly developed Moon Bros. material with a rhythm section still hot from their November residency at Analogue – i.e. Matthew Lux (Iron & Wine) on a rare double bass and Dan Bitney (Tortoise) on drums. Schneider plans to invite a couple more supplemental sound makers to jam as well though no word is available yet on who else will be a Moon Brother for the evening.
