"Did I ever matter? I mean beyond the whole... being Michael's condom. Being the Righteous Woman. Being the one that kickstarted everything and led the world to the shithole it's in now. Did I ever matter?"
Do you remember how you first met?
The first time Anna heard of Deanna Winchester, it was little more than a throwaway thought, a whisper in the back of her mind that she really should have paid a lot more attention to. Because the murmur was alien, implanted inside of her falsely-human skull by the Powers On High, and for all that they told of a Righteous Woman who would save her, who would save them all, Anna knows the real sum of that Righteous Woman’s parts.
Two dead parents, throats neatly slashed and blood oozing out onto the wooden paneled floors of her child hood home ; twenty-three years of humanity flushed straight down the drain ; a brother who couldn’t look her in the eye anymore and an apocalypse she never could hope to halt ; Michael, an inferno galloping, burning through her veins and her bone marrow and her Grace, everything was on fire her own body was her coffin and she couldn’t get out and then —
The Righteous Woman mattered. Very, very much. But it was not the Righteous Woman who Anna retook her Grace for. Not the Righteous Woman that Anna had thrown herself at the mercy of Heaven for.
(The ‘righteous’ and the ‘wicked’ had wreaked nothing but ruin, and whatever oblivion lay in the next life, Anna would quite happily let them all drown in for their sins — Michael’s Vessel was of little interest to an Anna that had not been tainted by Naomi’s engineering).
”D’you think I would have stopped Uriel and Cas from killing us all if I knew that you being the Righteous Woman would have caused all of this strife?” Her tone is low. She is not meek, but her protest against Deanna’s apparent assumption is of the quietest nature.
“You always mattered. You were exactly the point, of it all.”
It would seem silly to any other, but the jokes and the cocksure grin, ‘I can relate’ and their last night on Earth, they all added up. The prophecy of the Righteous One turned the Winchester into a legend, but Deanna made herself human to Anna. Warm and relatable amidst a sea of cold, crackling inhumanity. It was that that Anna had found comfort and trust in, enough to believe it worth the pain that swallowing back her Grace would bring. For one less moving, less a force of terrible, fearful, imperfect, perfect mortality, Anna would not have moved. But she did.
”You mattered, Deanna. Your ‘righteousness’ is secondary to your soul. Whether with regards to us or any other whose integrity you have cause to question— don’t doubt it.”

Of the ships you have so far, what does Kirk really admire about the other person involved?
outofcharacter. why this is a beautiful question let me start rambling --
so, first things first, i currently ship my kirk ( as in what i ship from my interactions solely ) with spocko and deanna as a fully romantic relationship, but i do have brotps and things that might actually develop with time, such as his relationship with joanna so i guess i'm going to tell you about these three.
spock ; there is a lot of spock that jim admires. in fact, as the foundations of their relationship there is admiration and pure love, you can tell. his determination and the way he hides his scars, wounds, whatever hurts him -- he admires that just as much as he hates it. if he has to pick one, just one of it -- as much as that would sound selfish, he would choose the way he loves him, the way he seems needy around jim ---- it makes him feel truly wanted, special, something longed for a long time & that is all part of what they share. that he admires in ways it might make him sick, and yes -- he knows it is not healthy whatsoever, but the bond they share, the connection is far too strong to break it ---- they are meant to be and always will.
deanna ; i know it hasn't been seen much of their true relationship on our blogs but believe me -- on skype it's like. constantly talking about them and there has been so many plot twists it's almost unreal. here too there are more points he could pick - but what has hit him firstly before any other thing is her being a fierce being crashing with him. it's like -- they keep on going one against each other and hit&hit&hit until they break their walls down and start to pick each other's pieces and build a home of their own, where they only can be safe, choosing to sink into each other. you can tell they're pretty much alike, and yet - different in many ways. it's truly amazing what me and deanna have built for these two, and we do hope we can put it all into threads -- until then, we will be screaming about it on skype. 8'I
joanna ; just yesterday i was basically talking to her about the complex relationship they have and how it is developing in such a realistic way -- it truly is something. they have like this dynamic in which they try to take small steps toward being something beyond simply coworkers and she literally takes no shit from him, and you can say that is what he admires. she is power and she won't bend to him as any other girl does, sass at him in every way possible and -- she is hiding so many fears from him it's when she reveals herself to him that they understand each other. so yes, they are basically bros while not ignoring the fact that yes, there might be something more once built a solid trust, because that is what she needs and he has to prove himself to her. one can tell it's going to be a long way to get to a defined point, but they know they have a lot of time.
