It is with a heavy heart that I announce that Luke Perry died this morning (Monday, March 4th, 2019) due to a stroke he had last Wednesday. He was 52. However, as he passed, he was surrounded by his loved ones, for which I am truly happy. Best wishes to his family as they cope with this tragedy.
He was truly the heart of Riverdale. He brought so much to the show and his character. I had always overlooked Fred Andrews as a character, but when Luke Perry brought him to life, I was instantly drawn in, and he became my favorite character in all of Riverdale. While it would be incorrect to call myself a fan of the show, and I was only able to watch one season before deciding to stop, his storyline as Fred (to me) was always so compelling, and drew me in enough that even tho a majority of the story lines did not strike my fancy, his did. His relationship with hermione was so beautiful and cute in the first season, and I’m so sad that they decided to chuck it out in exchange for Varchie.... but I know most people do agree that parentdale has been a diamond in the rough that is Riverdale.
Of course Luke Perry’s work as Fred would quickly function as a muse for this plucky lil role play blog. There was some drama behind the scenes, but it was fun while it lasted, and I’m happy to know that this blog made others happy too. It was a good time, and the first time I had role played in years.
Thank you Luke Perry for crafting such wonderful characters and bringing joy to your family and thousands of others. You seemed so kind. May you rest in peace.
