The Merman [Closed RP]

The sea bottom was dark at night when the winds howled and the waves shook. He did not even feel the change in currents from so far beneath the waves. Yet his attention was perked when the glittering of the moon was suddenly removed from his line of vision. Curious, Jack swam up higher and ut of the way of the blockage, moving closer to the currents above and finding them swaying with the storm. 

It was not a particularly harsh storm, but the waves did break harshly over the waters once or twice, and he had to dive back here and there to get a good look at the thing that had obstructed the light of the moon. 

His eyes widened at the sight of a ship- something he had never seen before other in wrecks upon the sea bottom. "Woah..." He muttered and twisted his fins closer to the boat. They were lowering some sort of net into the water but he paid it no mind and swam closer. 

Jack was merman.... a half-fish with the bluest fins and most gracious spines you would ever see. He was pale as ice and had hair to match, crystal blue eyes peering up in awe at the people as they moved on deck. From his position, it was hard to see, so he swam closer and tried to look through the holes of the deck where water kept sloshing through. "What are they?" He muttered to himself. they didn't have fins, they just had.... weird appendages. but they looked interesting enough and he grinned to himself. He doubted they'd be tasty, considering they looked like merpeople. In fact they were rather attractive if you disregarded the ugly not-fins. 

He was so focused on trying to see them properly that he did not see the net coming up and under him in the darkness.....
