Anirban De approaches his debut album, For A While, as a sequence of emotional snapshots. Across seven tracks, the UK-based independent artist traces the changing shape of a relationship, from early attraction and shared intimacy to distance, heartbreak, and eventual acceptance.
The opening track, “Stuck In My Head,” captures the restless excitement of a new connection, when another person begins to occupy everyday thoughts without warning. “Tomar Saathe (With You)” follows with a warmer sense of closeness, bringing Bengali and English influences into the album’s romantic pop framework. “Everybody Knows” explores the point where private feelings become difficult to hide, while “Your Side” focuses on loyalty and the desire to remain present through uncertainty.
The second half shifts into more complicated territory. “Same Flat” examines the uncomfortable silence that can develop between two people who remain physically close but emotionally separated. “I Never Learned How” stays with the difficulty of moving forward, resisting any easy version of closure. The title track ends the record with a more measured perspective, acknowledging that a relationship can retain meaning even after it has ended.
Anirban’s background sits outside the traditional music industry. Alongside his work in technology, data, and analytics, he used emerging creative tools to develop the ideas behind the album. That context is part of the project’s story, but it does not replace its human focus.
With guitar-led hooks, contemporary pop production, and a bilingual element, For A While presents its subject in clear, accessible terms. Anirban De’s debut is less concerned with a single dramatic ending than with the memories that remain after two lives move in different directions.
