The 100 rewatch episode 1.07

My typical overly long, stenography style recap: Raven trying to reach the ark. "Raven, you can do this." Clarke has really grown & is see Raven as a friend not a romantic rival. So heathy. Kane listing all the laws Abby broke. "It was argued convincingly that your medical expertise is still required" I'm wondering if Kane secretly lobbied hard to spare her with the council. Abby getting her pin taken. They really pass those things around don't they? Raven panicking "get me dr griffin now!" I love her & Abby's relationship. Clarke & Abby's first contact. "Clarke,is my son with you?" Awww wells 😭 & poor Jaha 😐 Monty's moonshine to the rescue! Bellamy & Miller dragging in Lincoln. "This is not who we are" Clarke's pleading face she gives Bellamy here is so intense "it is now" that hard look he gives her right back is chilling.(this is similar to the stare down in polis in ep 3x3 & the 3x5 fight scene) their looks just get more & more intense from here on out. "We need to know who we're up against & why they're killing us" this part is just sad how would it feel to be constantly threatened with people coming to kill you & you don't even know why. Hello Diana Sydney. This character grates on me I don't know if it's the actual character or the actress. But upon thinking about it if she "represents" the workers then she & the working class (like Bellamy) would be dissatisfied they aren't treated well. They were who Kane would've culled if Abby had not intervened so I can see her side a bit more now. Bellamy is a super jerk in this scene. But also I love the fact that as soon as he sees Lincoln's book he knows the tic marks represent how many lives they've lost. because Bellamy remembers every life lost. Every one he didn't save. It haunts him. Foreshadowing of the mountain men. "How many more of our people need to die before you realize we're fighting a war" "we're not soldiers,Bellamy." Man this conversation is super prophetic. There's so much foreshadowing in this show. Kane grieving at the memorial. Vera comforting him. (This mirrors Bellamy's grieving at the mt. Weather memorial in 3.4, but what's heart breaking is no one was there to comfort him.) I kinda miss the Jaha/Kane friendship from season 1 guys. "I swore to protect these people, instead I killed them." Kane is finally learning what "the right thing to do" is.(Also Bellamy says almost the same line in ep 3.4 "49 people I swore to protect" when Kane try's to comfort him.) Jaha is a tough love guy. Poison.Clarke is a smart cookie.I love how Hardcore Clarke can get when she's defending someone she cares about. "Which one?!" Clarke shoots Bellamy that pleading look again, & he says "I'll get him to talk" even though it's a bit macabre I love how Bellamy & Clarke unite under pressure like this. & how he looks to her for approval before he starts, because he respects her & her leadership. It makes him want to shield her from the bad like he try's with Octavia. Here when he gently squeezes her shoulder silently saying "no, let me be the monster." "I LOST MY SON!" Man Jaha's outburst in front of the station teams always makes me shiver.Isaiah really gives it his all here. "Ma'am, we can't trust them" the ark system was broken long before it crashed to earth. The ark was divided. To quote president Lincoln (and Jesus) "A house divided against itself cannot stand" this house is going down fast with all of Jaha's & the councils lying. Poor Octavia, she feels so helpless here. & honestly no wonder she becomes so physically violent to get her way later on, this is not Bellamy & Clarke's finest hour as the "parents." "Clarke, you don't have to be here for this" again Bellamy is like "I'll be the monster so you don't have to be." I think he still feels he owes her for taking the burden of killing Atom from him. For standing by his leadership. At this point I think he's already grouped her with Octavia in his "I won't let anything bad happen to you" box. This part still makes me wince 😖 "wanna bet?" Man Raven is merciless when it comes to protecting those she loves. This is why I say she is the female Bellamy. This whole scene is so powerful.so much emotion.I love Octavia's faith in Lincoln she knows he's good. Even when everyone else doubts her. Just like Clarke knows Bellamy's good, even when he doubts himself. And here is more proof of how Octavia just lashes at Bellamy because she can/he lets her. She just hands the antidote to Clarke & Raven saying "here!" & they rush to save Finn. Even though Raven was just torturing Lincoln.But when Bellamy reaches for her to comfort her she shoves him & says "don't touch me" *sigh* Poor Clarke she's hurting so much. "I can't do this without you" Sweet girl has always had to many burdens. & at this point she thinks Finn is the one to share her burdens with.(thats about to change). "Dads dead because of you" oh man this scene breaks my heart. Abby is so remorseful.Their healing over the seasons gives me hope for the Blake's. Sweet Vera, Angel!mom. Kane:"I don't know who I am anymore" Vera:"you're my son" "I've done some terrible things" "God will forgive you Marcus, the question is, will you forgive yourself?"(parallel with Bellamy & Clarke's beach talk in 3.13, it's so similar even ends with a hug) I'm convinced season one could be a giant thesis on forgiveness, maybe even the whole series could be. "You saved my life & look at the thanks you get" Octavia to Lincoln as she cleans his wounds. His whispered "thank you" made my heart skip when I first saw it. I love how in this show dressing physical wounds is one of the ways they show bonding. They bond over their physical & spiritual wounds. So do Bellamy & Clarke, even the first time Clarke softens at all towards Lexa is dressing her arm in season 2 & again her hand in season 3. Pacing Clarke. She looks to Raven & knows that Raven needs Finn more than she does & in this moment she acts selflessly & gives up Finn & the "security" he brings. But as the saying goes: "when God closes a door he opens a window" Well Here comes Clarke's window & he's beautiful. The gentle way he takes the awl from her hand(huh now that I think about it this bellarke scene outside the dropship is mirroring the Linctavia scene in the dropship. A gentle hand caress. A soft reassurance) "Clarke, who we are & who we need to be to survive are very different things." His face here is sooo caring he wants to comfort her, to ease her guilt the way she tries for him. & he does just a bit. From this episode on she seeks him out continually. The "trust" has started. "We are the titanic, and there aren't enough life boats. Damn Jaha back at it again with the telling it like it is. No wonder Diana plans the coup, the fear of the past repeating itself. Leave all the workers because they are expendable. Though I wonder what solution they would've come up with if given the proper chance. Well guys if you made it to the end bravo!
