jacket – Aryeh gives Aislinn their jacket

For a few, long moments, Aislinn looks down at the jacket that was put in her hands by the girl opposite her, taking in the piece of clothing with clear confusion. Eventually she raises her head to look at the girl - someone she doesn’t think she knows - before looking back down at the jacket.

“I- Uh...” She utters, before looking at herself, checking to see if her dress is maybe torn or perhaps her boobs are showing in some way that she didn’t notice before, but everything seems to be in order, and so she cannot understand why she was given the jacket.

Then she considers that perhaps the girl just wants her to hold it for a moment, and so she looks back up at the other, takes her in for a moment and then moves to put the jacket over her other arm. “Did you need me to hold this?” She asks, quietly, hoping that she isn’t missing an obvious thing and inadvertedly insulting the stranger opposite her by asking this.

bed – Krystal makes Aislinn lie-down

"Truly, doctor Jung, I’m fine,” she insists for the umpteenth time since being brought to the hospital by one of her coworkers. “It’s nothing bad, no broken bones, I just need to rest I don’t need to get xrays taken or anything.”

But just like her client, her coworker and the nurses, the doctor doesn’t listen to her proclamation and merely puts a hand on her shoulder to push her down into a lying position. She heaves a deep sigh but moves along, not wanting to be the annoying patient causing a fuss, and so she swings both legs onto the bed, makes sure to settle them down gently, and then closes her eyes.

“I know what a broken bone feels like,” she says lightly. “I’ve been injured before. It really isn’t that bad. But I’ll let you do what you must in case I am wrong. Just please don’t send me into the radiology department, I will come out worse than I went in.” She lifts an arm to put it over her eyes, heaving another sigh as her body almost automatically relaxes into the mattress, though she stays alert just in case the doctor might do something she is not prepared for.

jacket – Amber gives Aislinn their jacket

"Oh,” she says in slight surprise when suddenly there’s a jacket draped around her shoulders, covering her bare arms from the sudden outside cold. “Thanks.” She beams a bright, grateful smile at the young woman next to her, then takes hold of the edges of the jacket so she can huddle into it more. “I didn’t realise it’d gotten this cold outside.”

Her gaze wanders over their surroundings, the lamplit street outside the club she’d been spending her evening - and apparently part of the night already too - in. She’d come with friends, but those had been lost to her throughout the course of the night, so when she eventually needed a breath of fresh air, she’d stepped out alone.

She’s quite happy with the unexpected company, though, thinks that this blue-haired young woman might just be a gift from the gods - which she probably is in a way, considering everyone here is either a deity themselves or a child of one.

“I’m Aislinn,” she says, gives a nod of her head at the young woman and smiles at her warmly. “Or Ash. I’m just out for some fresh air, is it okay if I keep this a minute?”

Aislinn smiles at her friend when he tells her this, looking at him over the rim of her glass for a few moments, before she puts the colourful drink down.

“Now, I am in no way an expert on this. In fact, my level of personal expertise is absolute zero and I can only speak from stories read and heard, but...” She pauses for a moment, reaches out to pick up one of the snacks before she focuses her gaze back on Taeyong.

“It seems to me like true love is the one thing in all of life that should run smoothly, no? Like, if there’s anything that’s going to work out fine, shouldn’t it be true love?” She gives a little shrug of her shoulders then, pops the snack into her mouth and then chews and swallows it easily.

“I’m just saying... That seems the more obvious way of how things would go. Might just be me, though.”

There’s a momentary silence as Aislinn tries her very best to keep her - usually quite even - temper under control, but this isn’t the first time she passes by the shop past ten pm and finds the little girl either not having gotten any dinner at all, or only having been thrown whatever readily available food there was to be had, and it’s never proper food anyway.

“Well you would know all about that, wouldn’t you?” The words make it past her lips before she is full well aware of it, and she knows she should apologise, should somehow back down and let the goddess have the last word because things might end badly if she doesn’t, but she can’t. Perhaps it’s puberty still holding her in its clutches, or maybe it’s just the fact that she can’t imagine a mother taking such absentminded care of her child.

“She is a child,” she therefore continues saying, puts her hands on the little girl’s shoulders to keep her with her, and mostly out of the way of her mother’s wrath should there be any, and fixes her angry gaze on the goddess fully then. “She is growing up and needs proper nutrients as well as a diverse and interesting life. Other children to play with, time to just enjoy herself. She’s not supposed to do your work because you’re too inebriated to do it yourself.”

The silence that falls after her loudly and angrily spoken words seems all encompassing, and for a moment Aislinn thinks quite seriously so that she might just die this very day. Then she glances down at the little girl, and she thinks perhaps if she is killed here and now, someone will at least figure out that the child needs better care.

cradle – Valentina pulls Aislinn’s head into their lap

She didn’t expect to be pulled in, didn’t expect the sudden hands on her head and so there’s a small yelp coming out of her as she goes down, arms flailing temporarily until her head comes to a rest safely in Val’s lap. She looks up at the younger woman from her newly acquired position, taking in the demigoddess’ upside down features, and eventually breathes out a small smile.

“It’s okay,” she says, attempts to move back up but apparently her friend wants to hear none of it because she is pulled instantly back down. And really, she can’t blame the Mayan demigoddess, considering how she just spent a good while talking about how lonely she felt on the island lately. With her mother gone for another long stretch of time, Ash had been growing ever more restless and even the presence of many longtime acquaintances and friends didn’t seem to make it any easier.

For all the people she knew and spoke to regularly, there wasn’t really anyone she felt like she could talk to about these things. Not someone who she felt could understand her, for all the deities are, well, deities, and very few of the children grew up on the island like she did.

Still, she doesn’t want to make this first meeting in a long time into a sad event, and so she waves a hand at Valentina, as if to wave off her worries, though she doesn’t attempt to get up a second time. “I’m fine, though,” she says, tries to make herself as convincing as possible. “Really. You don’t have to worry.”

“Why do you have to flaunt my insufficiency?”

There’s quite literally a gazillion things she could say in return to that question, but considering Felix is really trying his hardest currently with the new exercise she’s given him, she decides to stay more on the nice side of the spectrum of possible replies.

“All I did was show you what you had to do once more,” she tells him with a half grin on her features, motioning for him to take up his place on the bench again and do it himself. “I’m not flaunting anything but my own skill, and considering I’m a daughter of Morrigan that skill should not surprise you.”

She shakes her head lightly as she takes in the pout that has spread over his features. She doesn’t think he fully realises he’s doing it, but it’s adorable nonetheless and she’s quite certain that she won’t be able to stay immune to it for much longer.

“Come on, just do it once and then you can be done with it for today. Do it for your favourite fitness instructor, alright?” She adds a wink to those words, making sure he knows she’s not taking any of this to heart.
