are a condom and a contraceptive sponge, when used together and correctly, adequate birth control? i can't use hormonal birth control, and i don't want to invest in a copper IUD before i know if i can have sex (i'm a virgin and i have issues with my pelvic muscles that might make penetrative sex not worth it, but i want to give it a try, and i thought a condom and sponge could be okay to start with.)

Yes, condoms are a good start initially, but using a sponge with them will be additionally helpful. Combining methods is always the best.

So, I don't have access to prescription birth control. They only things I can get are otc like condoms, sponges, and spermicides. My question is whether or not it's safe to use a latex condom, Today Sponge, AND VCF spermicide at the same time? Is doubling up on two spermicides harmful? Thank you so so so much for your help <3

Spermicides are often recommended against because they have a habit of causing bad reactions, so doubling up is likely a bad idea.

It is safe to use condoms with sponges and other such things. However, it is not safe to use external condoms and internal condoms at the same time.
