Early Childhood - Science Experiments: Magnetic vs. Non-magnetic
In the Montessori classroom, science experiences are more than experiments! Our goal is to help build and foster a scientific and inquisitive mind. Students are exposed to all areas of science through hands-on materials and experiments. Through experiments, like sorting Magnetic and Non-Magnetic items, children learn to observe, predict, and analyze results. Exploring the concept of magnetism through concrete materials satisfies their natural desire to understand how things work. Once they discover whether an item is magnetic or not, they are able to sort them into the correct column, which can boost their literacy and language skills through learning descriptive words.
