Love the floor and the fireplace with built-in shelving.

There appear to be some original antiques in here, like pictures, the sign case, folding chairs and writing desk.

Green velvet drapes that remind me of a classy old train car hang in the doorway to the living room. Look at the built-in cabinet.

Lots of framed art cover the shiplap walls. Look at the original floors.

In the corner of the living room is a lovely little office area. Such unusual furniture.

The sitting room is large and is lined with glass-fronted bookcases painted blue inside. By the separation in the floor it appears that the room was enlarged.

The modern kitchen is a mix of styles. The amazing glass display case looks like a vintage dessert display. 

The dining furniture is an assortment of lovely chairs & a trestle table. Love the column and glass candleholders, too. Very nice. 

The 2nd floor where the bedrooms are, follow the natural architecture of the original roofline.

The 2nd bedroom is so pretty.

They even decorated the garage.

When they renovated this old train station, they found the original beams, so they lightened them. Now the place looks light and airy. The young couple decorated with plants, modern bohemian style, and light wood furnishings from IKEA.

It’s a nice idea, I’ve never seen anything like this. The beams give their living space all its character, and separate the living room from the office area.

Now, it has a kind of Jungalow vibe.

Combining old and new.

The kitchen is basic white and stretches across one wall, sharing the space with the living room. Furniture in light wood and old armchairs reflect their way of life, which is based on recycling and minimalism.

Organization and simplicity is the way of life they have adopted and suits them perfectly.

The green and gray bedroom looks refreshing and comfortable.

A spare room is currently used as extra storage space.

They chose a basic white tile backsplash, black faucets and a modern bowl sink on a recycled chest.

This is awesome. It’s a former train generator station in the Swiss village of Gruben that’s been converted to a home. Architect Antonie thought that the 1904 building would be the perfect vacation home for her family of 5, and the only thing she changed was a staircase.

The gigantic generators act as the dividing wall between the kitchen and dining room. 

The kitchen is sleek stainless steel. 

They turned the original control panel into a fireplace.

The home office is on top of the control panel.

I don’t know what this is, but it looks like maybe a basement or storage area under the building. 

The living room is so stylish and features a large mural, wallpaper, shelving, and plenty of seating. 

There’s a beautiful view of the scenic village from the living room. 

This is the staircase, the only structural thing that Antonie changed in the house. It leads to the bedrooms on the 2nd fl.

This headboard is a beautiful  antique.

The master is spacious and has a sitting area, plus a large desk.

A bedroom that 2 daughters share.

This bedroom is nestled under the eaves.

A wood box built in the main bedroom houses the bathroom and provides support to the headboard of the bed.

The large bathroom has a big square tub and a shower.

Here’s a very cool conversion- it’s an old railway station and a lot of the original features are still intact. 

The old waiting area makes a large living room. They accented the arches with dark green paint, bordered in white to make them stand out.

This looks like the door to the station master’s office. 

Old wooden lockers are still set in the brick wall and a board of keys still remains. 

Huge rustic kitchen. 

And, look at the size of the laundry room. This is a large home.

Bedrooms are on the 2nd fl. Like the red handrails.

The old ticket windows are still here, too. Love things like this.

Living room- it’s a very light home, and has the original old brick walls.

The kitchen features white subway tile and a double stove in orange.

The downstairs bath has interesting smudgy gray tiles and fireplace.

This was the former waiting room, and the owner has a business selling wood stoves in here.
