Setting the cup down, she shook her head and sighed. “I don’t want her to leave. It isn’t fair of me. Just someone new and I get a little anxious. Used to just going after a while and I thought maybe it was might time to go…” Theo admitted before looking up at him. It was hard for her to be open about things she had little experience with. An actual family was one of those things. “Just worried I guess. I didn’t think you would want me being around with a lady friend present and all…”

" well, don't be so hard on yourself, ya are a joy to be around and I would love for ya two to get to know each other. Layla is a really good friend and she will love ya like I do. believe me there's nothing to be worried about, like I said we are family. " Jake pat her head before standing straight and walking to the fridge. " I will make dinner tonight, ya want pasta?. " to say he's a good cook is a lie but at least he try, their time together is valid and Jake took every opportunity he got to be home with her.

Theo nodded her head at his words, noting the clenching of the other’s jaw before tucking a piece of her hair behind her ear. “I didn't want to overstep but I didn't want to overstay my welcome. I just want to make sure that I could be here...”

Jake step closer, leaning in to match her height. " Don't be silly, overstep?." he smiled wide. " Listen Theo, this is your home too as well as mine. we are family and whatever ya got going on here..." he pointed at her head playfully. " is wrong, I love ya like ya are my own kid and I will never think ya are a burden, if ya are uncomfortable I can ask my friend to leave. I want ya to feel welcome here. "

Hopping up on the counter and getting comfortable. Fingers tapped against the cup as she observed him closely. A list of questions formed in her head as she waited.

looking suspiciously Jake pulled the empty bottle and tilted his head, a friend? oh!! is she talking about his associates who gave him a lift few days ago, Jake was too careful not to be seen in someone else car considering his dangerous activity.

" sure, I don't know why we are talking about this like it's something serious." maybe it's because Jake keeps his contact list a secret, never told information about his relationship with other people especially to her.

Chuckling just a little at the reaction. "You don't have to drink it... I can tell by your reaction it wasn't the best..."

Humming before sipping her own. "We need to have a talk by the way..."

"it taste like ass." Jake placed the half empty cup down, he don't understand what's up with people obsession over this! What happened to drinking regular coffee?

" what's wrong?." he asked curiously, opening a bottle of water and Chug it all to wash the bitter taste in his mouth.

Jake never tried it but he appreciate the effort. " thank you." he took one sip and it made him cringe... oh, fuck!

.... for Theo he will force himself to drink it. even tho it made him feel sick in the stomach. the taste of cinnamon is too much to handle.

what’s your damage. it’s something he’s never considered, but sitting here with theo, it’s something now he has to ponder over. there’s been so many things over the time that they’ve known each other. being the avatar of anubis certainly did not help.. or the fact that he works at a mortuary. but, as of recent, there’s been something eating away at him. sighing, he leans back to lay flat onto the bed, staring up at the ceiling.  ❛  that’s a good question, y’know. i guess.. everything right now is my damage. i’m tired. so.. so tired.  ❜  there’s exhaustion to his voice, the way his eyes droop nearly close, the slight pull downwards of his lips and how his brows furrow. he needed a break but, working with a literal egyptian deity.. it doesn’t work that way. suddenly, he looks to the side at theo.  ❛  what about you. what’s your damage?  ❜

Angst thought of the evening. Just one.

Theo actually getting hurt. Possibly in front of Jake. Maybe coming to get her or surprise but oh no something happens.

look at us like???!? ANGST? REALY AT THIS HOUR!! why you hurting ur dad like this, him trying to protect his kid. him being tied to a chair watching as the bad guy slice a cut into her skin saying that if he don't deliver the information they need the next cut will be deep into her throat, Khonshu in the other side telling Jake not to give them what they need but.... he he got save her!

“Yeah? more caps? do you match them to your mood or outfits?” Chuckling, she took off the one before placing another over her head. She wouldn’t mind seeing the things he enjoys. bet he has cool stories to go with them.

He shrugs and picked one, it got stories behind it. Jake isn't so vocal about what he love and enjoy but his actions shows. " No, I got this one from my trip to germany, and that one from Istanbul." he pointed at the cap she's wearing so it must mean they are trinkets same as the others he collected. it's amusing how much he grew from a careless person who let things go to someone who searches for things to keep as memories.
