Given how long they’d known each other and how close they were, Asa essentially knew she was free to just walk into the Nyx home. She didn’t do it often, but it wasn’t unexpected while Alina’s parents were on their extended vacation. The spells on the home meant that people who weren’t welcome couldn’t get in, and so when the footfalls were heard leading to Alina’s room, she knew exactly who it was.
Alina hadn’t told Asa about the werewolf attack, despite knowing she’d want to know. It was a pride thing, and admitting to the event was also admitting she hadn’t taken the proper cautions that she’d learned since she was young, both from the adults in her life and from Asa and her family. That was going to change today, because she knew she had to tell her friend.
“Please tell me,” she said as the woman entered,” That you stopped in the kitchen for drinks on your way?”
