“Then this conversation should be over now,” Chloe said with her smile completely fading. “It was nice talking to ya.”
“Pleasure.”
griffithxhaught:
“Next town?” A wry smile appeared on his face, “Maybe I should head on over to see if I find anything.” It never occured to him that his search for his parents would end. He hoped that his folks weren’t dead because it would feel that this whole search was in vain. “I.. don’t know.” He spoke honestly. “I never really thought about it.”
“Well,” she said as if pondering options,” I suppose we should just make sure you find them then, huh?” She smiled at him, figuring if there was any actual information of his family here, they’d eventually come across something. Once this little dinner break was over, she could go herself and check town records in the shop and see if there was any mention of his family.
jinritheredpanda:
“…. Did I like, upset you? Or piss you off? Or like, insult you somehow? I have a feeling you don’t like me but I have no idea what I did..”
“Am I supposed to be nice when you stick a wand in my face and scream meaningless words at me?”
howl-wilson:
With some reluctance, Howl took a step back. Alina was right, of course; it was better to let them do their own thing than get involved. Howl, for one thing, didn’t have a violent bone in his body, and as such, he had very little idea about how to throw a punch. Because of this, it was likely that if he did happen to interfere, he would end up getting hurt. Just then, the first man threw a punch, causing the other man to stumble back and hold a hand to his mouth. Howl stifled a gasp, covering his hand over his mouth as the fight unfurled before them. “Oh my,” he said. “Y-you were right.”
“It was a bit predictable, really. Get two drunk men together that don’t like each other sober, there’s bound to be some sort of action. Perhaps they’ll be nice to each other later after they lose a few teeth?”
jinritheredpanda:
“What? Well, it’s still better than David Copperfield kind.” She mumbled, still somewhat offended that the other didn’t like Harry Potter. In her opinion, everyone loved the whole franchise. “But don’t they say real magic always has a price to pay?” The shapeshifter thought back to all the other shows you had watched and all of those who played with magic had consequences. Jinri was aware of it all in this town but like everyone else, she didn’t say a thing about the supernatural.
“If you only allow your magical knowledge to come from tv shows and movies, you’re already vastly behind the curve.”
howl-wilson:
“T-that might be true, but couldn’t the case b-be that they only attack each other instead and get m-more hurt in the process? I’d r-rather get hurt myself than let two people get h-hurt because I didn’t do s-something about it.” He took a deep breath. “I-I think I’m g-going to break them up. I m-mean, it’s s-safer, right?”
“It’s safer to let them fight it out themselves. The only people they’re hurting is each other, and if you jump in, then they’re going to be hurting you too. Again, it’s better to just let them do their thing.... and we can bet on the sidelines.”
chloexlarsonx:
“So you’re even bitchier, got it,” Chloe noted with a small smile. “How’s your day been so far?” She asked trying to make more of a conversation.
“I’ll be better when this conversation is over.”
griffithxhaught:
“Perhaps, but it’s been one too many who have done the same thing. Maybe it’s just me. Do I not look friendly enough?” He teased while knowing that sometimes he looked unapproachable. “Do you know something I don’t?” It was almost surprising even to himself that he hadn’t lost patience about all of this. He had hit many dead ends before ending up in this town; sometimes he wondered if it was even worth it in the end.
“That’s… terrifying.” He laughed, “Leaving it to the hands of the chef. What if he doesn’t like me enough. God forbid the terror he might serve me.”
“You look terrifying,” she joked,” I don’t really know anything, your last name is familiar but not so much so that I could offer anything. Who knows? Maybe they’re just the next town over or something?” She paused a moment,” What happens if you don’t find them?”
lucindaxbellfort:
“Not usually, however it’s the least I can do for your kindness.” she smiled sweetly. “And I wouldn’t call it a drinking binge, just one or two.” for Lucinda one or two was the same as 22 or more, vampire’s didn’t really feel the effects of the alcohol but somehow it always managed to take a bit of an edge off her hunger.
“One or two could lead to quite a bit more, this early in the day,” Alina said with a hint of judgement in her voice. She, however, didn’t have anything else to do with her time, and so despite not being all that interested in making new friends she opted to accept the invitation anyway,” Let’s go.”
chloexlarsonx:
“What’s got your panties in a twist?” Chloe asked with a small smirk with a raised eyebrow.
“Hon, you don’t want to see me when ‘my panties are in a twist’.”
griffithxhaught:
If there were historical records, then there was hope towards finding a clue. Griffith had almost forgotten what being hopeful had felt like. After years spent in the system and then striving to survive on his own, his optimism was a bit sparse. “If you don’t mind.” He smiled as he followed her, “Any clue that’s going to help, I’m willing to give it a try. I’m starting to think my folks have some dark secret they don’t want anyone to know about - with how little there is. Finding them seems almost impossible.” A dry laugh as he sat down at a table. “so what’s good here?”
“Well, this town certainly has it’s secrets, however, I find ‘dark’ is a matter of opinion. Perhaps they just weren’t very social and left quietly? I know that doesn’t help you, but it’s certainly possible. More possible than any worst case scenario you have running through your head.”
She sat across from him, and glanced to the board on the wall behind the staff. She read a few of the things before responding to him,” Well, if you’re adventurous you could always try ‘The House Special’, which is essentially they make whatever they feel for you, which could be a grand delicious discovery or simply conflicting tastes on bread.” She glanced back to Griffith with a grin,” I’ve seen the results of both.”
howl-wilson:
“It d-does matter if one of them gets hurt,” Howl argued with a furrowed brow. He spared another glance at Alina and then turned his attention back to the two men. “D-do you think we should stop them?”
“I don’t think it’s really on us to stop them. I’d rather not get involved. It’s a bit like trying to grab an attacking dog, don’t you think? You try to stop them and they’re just going to turn and bite you instead.”
nikitamyers:
But.. But they look like they’re going to really h-hurt themselves. V-Violence shouldn’t really.. be the solution…”
“They’ll figure that out on their own. I’m not their mother, neither are you...... are you?”
guerrcro:
“Then you’re sure as hell losing. Just look at his sloppy form, there’s no way he can get a good hit in.”
“Never heard of the underdog?”
secnjae:
“What? Come on, we should stop them, not take bets! What’s wrong with you?”
“What’s wrong with me? What’s wrong with you? I don’t go interrupting strangers who find the best way to spend their time is fighting. Why not let them just do their thing and not risk getting punched in the face?”
novadclawick:
“Fine, let’s bet. You don’t get to take it back. Now let’s make this interesting, what exactly are we betting here?”
Alina hadn’t expected the girl to take her seriously, but now she was vaguely intrigued by the idea of actually doing the bet. She didn’t know what to actually bet, however, and lacking any better idea she offered,” A week of spell supplies?”
