“Lachlan, I wanted to talk to you alone before word gets out,” Felix said. He sat down at the counter of Lachlan Reid’s bar and leaned his elbows against the edge. The bar was relatively empty. The holidays were passing by and the infection was claiming more lives by the hour. People stopped going to the local businesses and the local businesses were starting to close down until a cure was found. He wanted to talk to Lachlan privately. He knew she lost her sister, Mercedes, and the last thing she wanted to hear from some strangers was that people believed that Lachlan was a carrier of the infection that killed so many people.
