this was the second time he ran into justin at the gym--- except now he had brand new information. persephone’s pregnancy, and her telling him that justin is possibly the father had made mino want to become a detective. so that’s what he was going to do today; some low-key investigation. he edged on over to the treadmill beside justin, eyes wearily watching the airheaded boy. look at him, trying to look attractive while jogging on a treadmill. what a loser. “well, well, well... look what the cat dragged in. it’s stup--i mean justin.” he greeted the other ‘casually’, eyeing him as he got onto the treadmill. and now went onto mino’s dumb question of: “so what brings you to the fitness of the planet aka planet fitness?”

it was one of those nights at the modeling agency, when mino had gotten home close to midnight. mino figured his roommate would be asleep by now but of course, she had been binge watching whichever show it was now, in their living room. bright red hickeys stamped along his neck, adding to his shirt stained with the scent of alcohol, mino grabbed ahold of the doorknob behind as he stepped inside; leaning onto the wooden door. “efffffffie.” he sang, unusually bubbly for the time of the night. pushing his messy brown hair out of his eyes, his smile glistened when he saw his roommate. “were you waiting up for me? how cute.”

when mino opened the door, he wasn’t surprised by taylor’s appearance. in fact, he anticipated that something like this would happen when he sent that bill/letter in the mail. his eyebrows raised in question though as he was the first one to speak. “i see you got the bill. are you here to pay for it?”

When the day of Mino's birthday finally came, he was excited. He was finally going to see Kai and he would be celebrating it with two of his favorite people. He had ordered pizza for them all and was practically bouncing around the apartment getting ready. 

And when the doorbell rang finally, Mino rushed over there. Only to find out that it's not Kai but rather the pizzaman. "Kai--Oh." Mino stopped halfway and slugged against the door. "Oh uh nope, I'm PJ.” PJ did a nervous laugh. “Two pizzas. One pepperoni and one plain, and a bottle of coke cola?" He smiled at Mino but Mino didn't seem to smile back. Kai was an hour late and was really starting to wonder if his brother was going to bail on him. "Yeah...Yeah that's us." Once they had paid the man, Mino shut the door in his face before PJ could even get another word in. ‘How rude?!’ PJ grumbled and headed back to his car.

Plopping the pizza onto the coffee table, Mino collapsed onto the couch besides Persephone with defeat. "You go ahead and eat." He felt the energy just get drained right out of him when he checked his phone; no messages were shown. no missed calls, no nothing. he really wasn’t going to come. It was a blow to his ego and he really wondered if his brother had wanted nothing to do with him anymore. “...He’s not coming, Eff.”

mino had managed to get over the slump he was in the past week or so as the realization hit him for being so stupid before. he was distancing himself from his roommate and he hadn’t even noticed. now was not the time to be distant. so instead, he was being, well... a bit clingy to his roommate. he had wanted to tend to her every need, literally jumping up to help her and wanted to make her as stress-free as possible. even if it was a little too much sometimes. he was currently though leaning his head against the woman’s leg, as he laid curled up on the couch. he vouched for the two to watch a movie, most likely just to get their minds off of persephone’s pregnancy and he hoped the horrible remake of death note would do the trick. even so, he hadn’t noticed recently but he had become a bit more openly affectionate with the woman. it was starting to be natural to him. “effie, how come it seems like mia--misa--whatever her name is, is ten times smarter than light is in the movie? i thought he was suppose to be like a genius or something.” he grumbled, nuzzling his head against her lap. “and she looks like that girl from that stupid show scream queens... the mean girl in it. emma... emma roberts something?”

“eff, check it out!” mino had rushed home to show his roommate the new billboard he saw in LA, which had– drum roll please— one of mino’s pictures on it! normally his pictures hadn’t been used for such things as this, usually for website models for clothes and low key opportunities. but once he saw the billboard and snapped a picture of it with his phone to prove it to persephone. “ boom! guess who’s face made it on a billboard? yours truly; the one and only, handsome hyun mino!” he put a hand to his ear as if to hear a ‘crowd’. “ impressed, yet?”

“you know just when i feel like things are going to look up for me, they don’t, you know?” mino hadn’t of even waited for richy to shut the door behind him as mino stormed into richy’s apartment. he needed someone to rant to, over the last few events that have happened this week and especially after what matt did to their things in the bathroom. he was pissed off enough to want to call the police about it but what can they do, really? he was sure they’d laugh in his face. he wanted to get revenge somehow, he just didn’t know how. “you’re never gonna believe what fucking happened to me yesterday, rich. take. a. seat. this is gonna be a long story.”

after an awkward night, mino had woke up bright and early the next day with a mission; to cheer up persephone. last night before going to sleep, he had picked up all the remains of the crushed flowers that were on their floor last night and put the flowers in a vase regardless. even if the stem was missing a pedal or two, he kept it. the flowers were possibly the nicest thing persephone’s ever gave him and he wasn’t going to take the chance of losing it. he had the vase placed nicely by the window in their kitchen and ran out the morning of to go buy more flowers. except this time the flowers were for her. he didn’t know what he did but he was going to make it up to her. even buying a little teddy bear for her, he returned home later on that morning and was startled when he found her awake and in the living room. “p-persephone!” the man looked down at the gifts before looking back up at her. “you’re not suppose to be up by now! i uh...these are...well, they’re for you and...surprise?”
