Muggle Pubs
Greta && Pandora
“It was lovely to see you, papa” Pandora murmured as she kissed her father on the cheek. They had spent the afternoon at his favourite muggle pub, the pub he had met her mother working in, to celebrate her birthday and toast to her memory. It was something very private, just for the two of them, so his wife Marie and her half sisters hadn’t joined them and insisted that they didn’t mind, when Pandora had apologised. No matter how long ago she had lost her mother, she would always miss her and no though her father had moved on and found love again, he would always hold love in his heart for her mother. “And you my flower” he said, hugging her gently, before letting her go. “I will see you soon, okay?”
“I promise” she lied, smiling as her father kissed her forehead before shuffling around the table and leaving the pub with a small wave goodbye. She sighed as he left, knowing that she wouldn’t see him soon and had only made an exception to her ‘keep away from her family to keep them safe’ rule because it had been her mother’s birthday. She wouldn’t have done it otherwise. Picking up her empty wine glass from the table, she made her way thorough mismatched chairs and people to get the the bar, pulled out an empty stool and hopped up into it, passing her glass back over the bar. “Another glass of Pinot Grigio Rosé please, and a menu, if you would?” she said the the bar tender, who smiled, took her glass and went away to fill it.
She turned her head slightly to survey the bar and a woman sitting next to her caught her eye, mainly because she was certain she had seen her face before, well, the half of her face that she could see. “Sorry, I don’t mean to be rude, but don’t I know you from somewhere?” she asked, hoping the woman would turn and she could see if her suspicion was correct.
