Carson had been on her way out to meet friends, when she was stopped in her tracks by an approaching familiar face. She had quite literally just closed the door and turned around when she'd spotted them approaching. Blinking a couple times, she asked: “What are you doing here?” She shifted her weight onto her toes as she looked at them expectantly.

“Wait. I don’t know you do I? You look oddly familiar. But also...not? Either you really look like someone I know or I’ve like...vaguely seen you around. But...I don’t believe we’ve met before?” Carson speaks rather quickly as she curiously frowns at the other. Hesitantly she adds: “Have we?”

“Those days are gone. We’re not who we used to be.” Carson had once been care-free. The type of girl to go on adventures and never worried about consequences. But life had taught her, albeit the hard way, that she couldn’t ignore the consequences of her actions. That she had to grow up and take responsibility. “It will never be the same. It’s best we leave it in the past. Like a fantasy we got to live out for those precious moments.”

“Wait. How come you’re only telling me this now,” Carson frowned, leaning back in her seat and putting down her fork. Blinking a couple times, she searched the other’s face for answers. “I feel like this is the kind of thing you’d have mentioned to me earlier.”

“I don’t... I don’t know what you want me to say.” It wasn’t often that Carson was at a loss for words. She usually had something to say. But she felt like she’d just been hit like a bomb. “I think...I think I need to time to process. I just...I don’t know what to say.”
