I heard this from the Scavenger's Hoard podcast: Convorees are a kind of bird that have some connection to the Force, and can like "hold" a Force ghost within their bodies possibly? Apparently they were seen briefly either at the end of TFA or in the little "ep 8 filming starts today" promo thing that Johnson released months back. Either way, the fact that they live on the island Luke lives on sounds pretty important.
