Alright gang I am gonna go off on a little rant here because it is no secret that I am the #1 Jyn Erso enthusiast and of course I re watched Rogue One immediately after finishing Andor. It kinda hit me like a brick that Jyn had absolutely no one. No one left to mourn her, no one left to talk about her, and no one noticed that she's even gone. She's been alone since the age of 16, and yes she did form connections with people during her late teenage years, but the only people that actually mattered to her died anyways, saving her. (the Pontas) so what really highlights the tragedy of Jyn is the fact that Cassian had a life. He had Bix, Wilmon, Vel and a whole bunch of other people that would remember him and pass on his legacy. That's why rebelcaptain is so important to me, because Cassian comes back for her every single time. She's never had the luxury of that. If you really pay attention in Rogue One, when Jedha is being destroyed, she makes no move to run, or save herself even though she knows she's in danger. Or on Eadu. Yes, she's in shock both times but the person that gets her to come back to life, to keep going, is Cassian. So the fact that he comes back for her on top of the tower on Scarif speaks insane volumes about their connection. Cassian was fatally injured, he probably fractured his spine and broke a rib or two with that fall and he STILL CAME BACK. Which made all the difference to Jyn. The fact that they died together on that beach is the most poetic ending they could have written for these two. Now that I'm really thinking about it, that was probably the first time someone held her in YEARS. Saw Gerrera doesn't really seem like the soft and cuddly type, and she never really had the chance to develop that type of connection with anyone over the course of her life. Anyways, with all respect to Bix and the people who ship her with Cassian, the connection he developed with Jyn over the short time he knew her was legendary.
