It’s important to know labels came AFTER the existence of how we are. We’re just trying to find ways to communicate things that are already happening. And a lot of times… we just dont get it right.
Very true! Thank you for reminding me of that. And like. In light of that, there’s no reason why I can’t just make up my own terms to describe myself to myself. Not that i need to have a term at all, but like! I can make one up if I wanna! Especially considering I don’t give much of a fuck what other people interpret me as, if making some shit up to call myself to myself would help me feel more at ease with what I know myself to be, then... I can do that! I’m allowed! That’s! So liberating! It’s nonsensical for me to feel like I’m obligated to use words that were made up to describe people who aren’t me!

it’s just weird bc like... everything has a ~label~... and in a way it makes sense because like... how do we Refer To Things if we don’t have words for them? but then. like you say, they can be so limiting... and I don’t think that’s inherent to having labels, I think it’s something that People Do... there’s a quick, easy word to refer to a basic category of thing, and then we want those categories to be rigid and definite and like???
