TL;DR Version: The Cookie Dough Donut from @SoDoughBakingCo is the best donut I’ve ever had and if you like the flavor of cookie dough it’s a must try. Full Review: Every Sunday morning I stop at SoDough Baking Company on my way home from church to get a donut and maybe a cup of coffee. Until last month I was varying my orders every week to try everything. That stopped the first time I got a Cookie Dough Donut and now I get one every week. It’s their same base cake donut, which I wrote about back on October 5, 2017. If you’re too lazy to go back and read it, the gist is that they’re awesome. The Cookie Dough Donut has a caramel colored frosting and a ball of actual raw cookie dough seated in the donut hole. The first time I saw the donut it was no mystery what the cookie dough ball was, but I couldn’t figure out what the frosting itself was going to taste like as a compliment. The answer was that the frosting too tastes like cookie dough; sweet, buttery cookie dough. It also has the slightly gritty texture of cookie dough even though it’s otherwise creamy. Seriously, the frosting is absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, I have no clue about the nutritional value because the bakery doesn’t have that information, but I think it’s safe to assume there are lots of calories, tons of carbs, some fat, and very little protein.
