A bit of Gordon Ramsay appreciation.
I've heard what people people say about him. They say he’s very raw and vulgar and mean because he has a bad temper, and he’s angry all the time. People even have made memes of him about "his best insults” and stuff like that.
So recently I’ve been watching a little of the shows he have been in and researching about his history of how he became a chef and tv hoster. Because I wanted to see with my own eyes who was that man. Cos it gave me the impression that it was an unfair reputation the one the masses on the internet gave him.
What they say about him it’s unfair! And it doesn’t make justice to the really great chef and person he is! Because he’s not a mean person who is angry all the time, rather a very corteous and heartwarming man with a passion for cooking, who pours a lot of heart on it.
Of course, when he has to taste food that it’s really a disaster or when he’s pressed to help people to come out with something good on a limited time, like in Kitchen Nightmares or Master Chef for example, obviously he’s gonna be stressed and say something! I think even me! I would have liked to say not very nice stuff about the cooking of a few restaurants I’ve been in were food have been awful (a couple of times I’ve been found nail parts, maggots and even pubic hair on my food, and man that’s not agreable at all!) and I would have done it, if I wasn’t that shy as I am, hehe.
Also, I have worked on restaurant kitchen (in two different occassions) so I know it can indeed be stressful. So that’s understandable to a certain extend. And frankly, seeing what some people have come up with with my own eyes, I think he have been very brave to taste, and even patient with people’s awful meals.
But as harsh as he can be when the food it’s awful, when he actually have liked the food he’s a sweetheart, and knows how to say thank you!
And for example, when people don’t force him to put on with people’s bad stuff, when he’s all by his own and he cooks and talks about his recipes, it’s completely another world!! ^^
It's really cool because there is where you realize the most that, even if he is sometimes very sarcastic and though sometimes, he doesn’t deserve that reputation of angry and meany.
There you see that he is a very corteous, friendly and laidback man with a passion for cooking, who GENUIENLY loves the food, and cooking. I really like how he loves to invent and create, his respect and devotion to the culinary art, and with how much enthusiasm he explains things.
You know, it’s evident when on a cooking show someone genuinely loves cooking and when someone’s just pretending for the sake of going with the show when they are talking. And that monsieur does it.
You can hear the love and passion in his voice when he’s talking! His voice has so much emotion. And I, as a cooking AND food lover I appreciate that so much! Mon dieu! His voice it’s turly awesome and cool!!! So elegant and so beautiful and full of feeling!
I personally like how he explains, and I love the most when he gets carried away and is so enthusiastic and happy about something he’s explaining that he says expressions like “Oh my lord!” or “oh boy!”, with this too sexy and amazing british accent he’s got, hehehe
It’s the coolest thing ever! And I’m happy I didn’t keep myself just with other people’s opinions and I wanted to watch it for my own. Because now I can’t imagine my life without his british voice saying “oh my lord” *chuckles* I can enjoy his british voice and most important, I know he’s actually a very nice person!
So I think, if you wanna see the best of Gordon Ramsay, if you wanna really see the kind of person he truly is, you should watch one of the shows where he cooks and shares his recipes rather than the other ones.
Although I don’t say the shows where he is forced to taste other people’s bad cooking are not recomendable to watch, hehe. They are cool and also fun to watch, because he's got a good humor sometimes when talking about the bad meals. And on the parts where he helps other people’s restaurants to improve what they are doing wrong with their cooking and become better, it’s interesting and cool because there are lot of great tips and advice for the people who have a restaurant as a bussines...or like me, how just like cooking and british voices *chuckles*
Sorry I didn’t think this was going to be soo long and I’m not even sure why I’m saying this, probably nobody will care about XD And maybe after I see more from him I’ll write a more specific review on the shows themselves.
But I just write this now so I don’t forget, now it’s fresh on my mind. Cos injustice is one of the things that really hurts my heart when I see it happens.
And after seeing more about him I just felt like the guy doesn’t deserve the bad reputation people have given him, so I wanted to give him a bit of a fairest and more objective opinion.
