Back to Me Again!

Hey what's up guys!!

i feel great now... end of, no complaints whatsoever!! I'm actually going to write about the good things im going through and what i have to look forward to for once ;)

I finally found what i was looking for, i found an amazing woman and got a relationship with her and she's just beyond anything i could've hoped for; beautiful, caring, considerate, funny... She seems to support me what i choose to do and she likes me for me which is amazing as i don't come across a lot of people who really understand me so to have that one person is fantastic, incredible that it's her!

I can sense my resurface on the BBC front again now, I'm making some music which i know is going to kill that radio station and change a lot of perspectives on me, for good or bad, i will probably lose a lot of fans with this next album but i'll gain a lot more respect and i'll probably manage to vent all the tension inside. I'm really looking forward to people's opinions on my new material, i've started making this 4th album so quickly that it's having promotion issues with my third album which still isn't released yet!

I'm getting to the point now where gigging is becoming a must, which is a stage im really looking forward to, i'm finding myself addicted to that buzz when i see people getting into it and i've realised there are so many different reasons people like it, some like the flow, some like the lyrics and the message, some just like it to like it... SUPPORT IS WELCOME THOUGH! :P

I'm really looking forward to seeing where my life goes in the next year because i feel like i'm stronger than i've ever been in a long time and everything is within my control and capability again!

wow it's been tooooooo long folks...but I'm baaccckkk!

Hey guys, i can't believe how long it's been since my last update!! i would make some crazy ish up about life being too busy now for me to reply, it's kind of half true but i think in truth i just kept forgetting to keep you guys updated with everything that has been going on!!

First and foremost... musically... i'm feeling it again, i've loved creating Take Off a crazy amount but it lacked something that my first album had and i started to recapture that around mid january and bring it into the album, that magic has taken this album to a whole new level for me, i just love listening to the album knowing you guys CAN'T HEAR IT UNTIL JUNE 3RD! :P :P it's coming out June 3rd though so go and cop that... it's a full-length studio album which i've put A LOT of work into... anyone who's followed me saw that i dropped The Renaissance (my first album), then dropped my 2nd album Unknown within 3 months of releasing the first. I really took the time out to find my direction with this album and get the right songs on the mix and everything so i really do hope you enjoy it as much as i did making it!

now that my writing process for Take Off ended because i'd finished with it, i found that i changed my style again, it's something unconscious i do to keep every album different... but MY GOD this one was annoying, i loved my style on Take Off and it's really hard for me to replicate... not saying this new flow and style isn't a killer, it definitely is, it's probably more down to hip-hop now than ever! respecting the craft and listening to it has just changed my delivery and the way i approach a verse!

IM MAKING MY 4TH ALBUM ALREADY!! - i know right - i've not even released the 3rd album yet and im making the 4th... CRAAAZZZYYYYYY! i've decided the title is going to be called "Standing Point" because it feels like a return to my old self, when i used to voice up for the people who couldn't use their own, like the bullied generation, I GOT YA BACK! :P ANYWAY! watch out for "Strange Thoughts" which is the next track OFF "Standing Point" - im shooting a music video for it soon and the script for it looks absolutely INSANE!!!

2. Family...

i don't really know what to put in this section... if there's one thing i can rely on my family for being... it's consistent... whether that's a good thing or a bad thing depends on the situation... my parents are drifting from each other i feel but they either need to sort things out or leave each other alone and stop struggling, it's natural and it's going to happen... it's just a way of life :/

3. College & University...

sadly i'm not A HUGE MUSICIAN... so yeah... University here i come... weirdly though, not to study music... IM OFF TO STUDY HISTORY AT SHEFFIELD HALLAM! so if any of you guys reading are going to SHU... hit me up on twitter @officialcookzee and let me know! 

i had the privilege of going through my earlier posts and i just need to update you guys on THAT front... i'm a hell of a lot happier now! the past week has been especially amazing but i have no idea what's going to happen! it's just nice finding new people to talk to and get along with! i've made this one connection and i really really can't wait to see where it goes because i genuinely cannot fault her, she seems genuinely perfect in every way so we'll see how that goes! :P she'll read this at some point... i bet my last pound on it!

i will try to update you guys more regularly... but for now, im in the studio, im working, PEACE!

BBC tomorrow!!

okay i'm so ****ing nervous about tomorrow! it's crazy, i've had stage nerves and stuff like that but this is something else. People seem to be watching to see if i can take the next step successfully and my mentor Mister Crow was saying i chose all the right paths correctly... but i have no idea how i did that, i never sat and planned this out it kind of just happened! 

so enough of the deep nervous stuff! IM FREAKING EXCITED THOUGH!!! it's exciting knowing that my whole county will have the chance to hear me, my teachers, friends, my friends parents, random people who i've never met yet! it's a strange feeling but one that makes me feel important again! i love it! I LOVE MUSIC! and everything it's done for me!!

i'm still dealing with a hangover i got from last night so i'll leave this blog fairly short but i promise to write a FULL one about my time there tomorrow, and take plenty of pictures!!! WOOOOOOOOO!!!!

P.S. one gutting thing about is, the friends who i have who advise me, some within the BBC show tomorrow, some not, have all expressed their feelings about me performing some songs dedicated to my ex. I wrote them when i was with her with the exception of one called "Solo". they insist i do them but there's too much in them now for me to feel comfortable but i'll give it a shot!

"Welcome to the game buddy"

Okay so last night was one of my friends 18th birthday parties... awkwardly enough, my ex's best friend! So i decided to go with my best friend, take it slow (i am possibly the worse drunk who ever lived! i end up passing out disgracefully over anything that will support me... off like 2-3 pints when necked!) and have a dance.

The evening was great, people congratulated me on my success with the BBC and asked me all sorts of bizarre questions, hugging me, kissing me and some flirting with me, which im pretty sure wouldn't have come without my recent success, as i am awful with women haha! 

I go and talk to jermaine about it and all he said to me was "welcome to the game buddy, you're gonna be famous, you gotta deal with this now" and i immediately knew what he meant (not that it's a difficult job, but on a deeper level), it struck me that if everything kicks off for me in February, i'm going to be famous and have some success with the music... how will i ever know if a girl im with likes me for me, or me for the spotlight!

Anyway, i get chatting to this girl, she was really really nice and a great person to chat to, we went dancing and i saw my ex kissing this guy after us being split for 3 weeks, but i expected it so it didn't really do anything to me. After a while i went off with this girl and enjoyed the rest of the party... even though i can probs remember only 7% of it!! :D just thought i'd keep you up to date!!

Things are finally looking up!!

Okay, this is my first blog, just tryna figure out how to use this effectively! so first, let me introduce myself. I am Cookzee (Michael Cook), an 18 year old rapper, originally from Derby, UK, moved down to Lincolnshire when i was young. I’ve been making music seriously for about 2-3 years now, only just figuring out the professional standard… (stupid i know right but it’s a journey so stfu!)

Things were going great until about 3 weeks ago i split with my long time girlfriend, and my first love, but whatever man this aint a place for soppy ****!

The lesson i learnt from this is that the world is always changing, and if you move with it you’ll be fine, stay stagnant you’ll DIE! but anyway! i’ve been doing BBC Introducing for a while now, got an interview and everything, so really enjoyed it! but then i got news that they’d nominated me for BBC Masterclass Musician which is a HUGE DEAL!! and so i figured, since it’s going somewhere… i should start blogging about it and stuff right? so this is the first blog i’ve made, i’m going to keep you up to date with everything! EVEN RANDOM ISH! enjoy!! :D
