Mainstream porn isn’t any better. I was checking out a pornhub one day (as one does), and saw their section, “For Women”. Um… it was like everything else except, weirdly, felt like it was actually /more/ directed at men. Like??? Same issues as the male-written, male-gazey, male pleasure centric pounding, stretching, ramming writing that purports to be female-targeted “erotica”.
Yeeeeah, it's kind of a mess. You can find good stuff, but you have to know what you're looking for. Pen names are no use, because a lot of male writers will use female pen names. There's this huge disconnect between what women are supposed to think is sexy versus what a lot of (some of?) us actually think is sexy.
