Thinking deeply on the image for a moment, Tauriel swiftly recovered her laptop, hunching over it as she worked intently on an image before her. It was only when she was finished that she allowed a loud bout of laughter to slip forth from her as she spun the screen to face him.
“No- please don’t subject us all to that torture.” She teased him, still giggling at her creation. “You look as though you could use a monacle as well.”
“Anything you want to say?" [coolerthanbond]
@coolerthanbond
“What do you want me to say ‘Zeke? That you’re the cutest, egotistical thief that I know? Because those words are definitely not going to leave my lips.”
Though they just did.
“Or that the reason I get so mad at you is because you do ridiculously pointless and reckless things and it makes me worry? As if. Your stupid mistakes are on you. Not even the library could possibly expect me to be able to control you.”
Stop lying to yourself, Tauriel.
“Or-Or… maybe you’re wanting me to say that the reason I won’t confess my mad infatuation for you is because you’re the thief. The snatch and go guy. Because I’m the person that sticks around, like you’ve pointed out before, and you’re the one who turns tail and runs away. Don’t hold your breath because those words aren’t going to slip from my lips. Ever.”

Glancing at the white envelope held within her grasp, the former Police Detective once more retrieved the small slip of paper from within, still thinking herself crazy. Not only had she watched as it had seemingly scribed a message out to her about a position at this supposed Library before her very eyes, but she’d been insane enough to find herself now standing before the location to which it had sent her.
“What can it hurt?” She sighed to herself gathering herself as she stepped forward, wrapping upon the hard wood of the location’s door. It was a library- she should just walk in and yet, this felt far stranger than any library she’d ever found herself within before. “Hello- I’m here for the position that I got the.... magical burny scribey letter about...” She spoke aloud before nearly jumping back as the door swung open to reveal a man many years her prime, bearing a smile upon his features.
“So the Library sent you a letter- as if we didn’t have enough trouble with the existing quartet, of course it would bring forth another.” He murmured, and she found her eyebrow quirking high.
“Are you the- Librarian?” That was the person who ran a library, right?
“Oh, no no. That would be Flynn, Cassandra, Jacob, and Ezekiel. No, I tend to the Library while they’re away on missions the clipping book sends them on.” He corrected her with a chuckle as he turned, walking back into the structure, prompting Tauriel to follow suite behind him.
“Wait- what? Missions? Clipping Book? What the absolute hell are you talking about?” Came her immediate response, her mind filling with only more questions with each word he spoke.
“All answers will come in time, Guardian. Oh I suppose Eve will be somewhat relieved to know she’s no longer the only one having to look out for those four. Ah, I almost forgot- I am Jenkins. And-”
The red head spoke up, cutting the man- Jenkins- off mid sentence.
“Ok, Guardian? What am I guarding? And what is all of this ridiculous nonsense? First a possessed letter and now you, talking absolute gibberish about Guardians and Librarians on missions and just.... What?” Never, in all her life, had she been as confused as she found herself now.
Gesturing toward a chair, located within a well lit room that she’d followed the male into, Jenkins prepared to fill her in with all that she sought answers to- or at least as much as he could get her to believe by word alone.
What felt like hours ticked by as she heard far more than she found she could believe- talk of magic and artifacts from what she’d always known as mere children’s stories. And Jenkins seemed to fully be serious about all of it. After a short time, she found her best option to be humoring the seemingly insane man in what he was saying.
“Therefore- if you no longer have anymore questions, you have a Librarian to be guarding.” Came his words. She found it was within her best interest to simply nod and take to her feet as he too stood, leading her towards a door nestled on the opposite side of the room. “This is the Back door. You will become very familiar with using it, though the first few times, be prepared to stumble, feel light headed, woozy, possibly even nauseous.”
Seriously- how bad could walking out of a back door be? She thought to herself, simply nodding yet again, trying to keep emerald orbs from reflecting the massive amounts of skepticism she was filled with- as well as showing how truly mad she thought him to be in the moment.
“Right then. Out the back door I’ll go to find- eh- who exactly?” She inquired, quirking an eyebrow in question.
“Mister Ezekiel Jones. A personality you can’t possibly miss. Believe me, you will know him when you see him. He currently is in Italy, seeking out the lost da Vinci manuscripts. Just look for the egotistical aussie and you’ll know you’ve found the right fellow.” He smiled in response as he seemed as though he were setting the door before the detective to a certain location- which she found absolutely mad, though that was seeming more and more normal the more time she spent around the fellow. “Enjoy Italy.”
She let the final words pass by her as she opened the doorway, fully expecting to step out behind the establishment she’d formerly been in, yet she found herself sprawled upon the streets of Italy instead.
Impossible!
Standing and shaking herself off, Tauriel looked about in sheer confusion and disbelief. How was it possible- she’d just been in the States, and now she was within a European country? It was literally, in all ways, impossible.
Taking a few hesitant steps down the street, she began looking about. Apparently she had to find this “Librarian” guy if she wanted more answers, and she did not want to be stranded on the Italian streets as she was now- not much money, no luggage, nothing but her person and what was on it.
“Da Vinci.... Da Vinci.... Where the hell would anything about Da Vinci be located?” She spoke aloud to herself, before seeking out a passerby who might know more than herself.
“Mi scusi. Dove potrei trovare un museo dedicato a Leonardo da Vinci?” She inquired of the first couple of people to walk by, receiving directions to the Museum in Florence. Thank god for the Italian course she’d taken in college.
Finding her way down the street once more, the former detective pushed aside her sense of awe and confusion that still clutched at her- she had to find this guy, which soon proved easier than she had expected. Hearing an Australian accent first caught her attention, drawing emerald orbs to look over the male a short distance down the street from her. He certainly seemed like the type who could quite possibly match Jenkins description.
“Are you Ezekiel Jones?” She inquired simply, swiftly making her way up to him, eyes searching his for a tale in the event he for some reason would try to lie to her. “This Jenkins guy sent me to find you-” It might help her cause if she explained how she knew who he was.
