☼ : Childhood headcanon

The day that Connor was born, Ethan wanted to be the first one to hold him. He had been waiting to have a little brother of his own to play with and hang out with so he thought that he should and would be given first dibs to hold his little sibling. On the day Connor was born though, Ethan had not been told that it was time and he was, instead, left at home with his grandmother. The next day, he was taken to see his new baby brother, hoping that it wasn’t too late for his little brother to love him the best of them all. When he arrived, a nearly 10 year old Ethan was beyond fidgety in the waiting room. Finally, when he was allowed to hold him, Ethan sat in the chair and told his new brother about all the things he would teach him when he was old enough and how he couldn’t wait for him to be able to talk to him and ride bikes with him. 

Ethan made sure to keep those promises that his 10 year old self made the day after Connor was born.
