Accidents Happen | Sam & Klaus

Bottles were polished, counters were wiped, and floors were swept. Golden eyes shimmered as they looked over the shop a second time, critical gaze making sure no detail was out of place. He knew such actions were borderline obsessive at this point, but was it so wrong to want his shop, the fruits of his labor and realization of his dreams, to be perfect? Frame it that way and his compulsive pacing between the shelves couldn’t be interpreted as anything but reasonable.
Finding everything to be in order, Klaus smiled as he approached the entrance and flipped the sign. Scarlet Scents & Perfumes was at last ope--
Crash!
...His ears prickled at the sound of glass shattering and he repressed a groan. There was little doubt in his mind; Klaus recognized the handy-work of that boy when he heard it. Upon first beginning the hiring process, Klaus hoped he would encounter dedicated employees with fine work ethic--all who held the same passion for perfumes that he did. He quickly learned that such individuals were difficult to come across, and that being picky during the infant stage of his business was an un-affordable luxury. In the end he settled for Sam because of his friendly disposition, but during the interview he could not imagine just how clumsy the boy was.
Klaus reeled back his biting thoughts. He never wanted to be a person who got easily annoyed with others. In truth, he found cheerful and sincere people such as Sam quite charming in his everyday life, but as an employer... It seemed Klaus had gotten too comfortable working alone on his projects. He reminded himself that each little task was no longer in his direct control, and that dealing with other people’s follies was all a part of management.
Floorboards creaked with his advancement toward the mess. Klaus smelled it before he saw it. A floral fragrance... a blend of lavender and citrus. Luckily not one of the more expensive scents this time. Finally reaching the site of the accident, Klaus locked eyes with Sam before raising his palm to halt any apologies or further action.
“It’s fine, Samson. I’ll clean it myself.”
