as cj stripped his so called uniform for the day he noticed a familiar face stumbling through the medical office’s doors with a large and dark crimson hue covering up their shoulder. “liberty? oh my god. are you okay?” the town doctor rushed himself to the blonde before aiding her towards the nearest seat to examine her wound. “wow, they really got you didn’t they?” he teased, hoping to lighten the mood. // @coolwxthyou​

waking on the other side was always a rather unpleasant experience. it always left sam feeling lethargic and uncomfortable, though it wasn’t typically a feeling that lasted very long. he blinked slowly before he focused on the human in the room, drinking the sight of her in. she was pretty, by human standards, though it didn’t deter him from trying to will himself back home. it wasn’t until he realised that he was bound to the spot that he was in before he finally spoke to her. “what the hell, lady?”

“So, I hope you know I know about as much as an average google search.” He said with a laugh, really they continuously asked for his help but he was nowhere near ‘skilled’ when it came to repair. He tightened the last screw on their air conditioner before sliding it back into its designated window. “There, all done. Anything else I can help you with tonight?” he joked, he’d been in their apartment fixing appliances almost every other night for the past few weeks. He could tell they had a crush on him but he enjoyed seeing them put in all this effort to see him so he didn’t plan on letting them know.

it hurts, but it looks worse than it actually is. tristan can still move his hand, so as he flexes it to show his girl that he’s alright, he tries to offer her the weakest, pained smile. “babe -- i promise i’m a’ight.” it never stops her from fussing over him, and he knows better than to keep her from doing her thing. besides, he did really love the attention when it came to evie. “thank you for coming to watch me tonight....” their work schedules usually worked against his matches, but it worked for them in other ways, meaning they got to spend more time together, even if she didn’t get to be there to support him at the best of times.

the scoff that came out of scarlet’s mouth was loud. it was maybe too loud, too defensive, especially paired with the way that she rolled her eyes. “who in their right mind could ever love you?” scarlet wasn’t exactly in her right mind, though. she had kind of started loving them the moment they pressed a knife to her neck, though that had more to do with her issues than their lovability. "why don't you just...stop talking?" her cheeks were already hot, physical proof of her embarrassment rising to her cheeks as she avoided looking at them altogether. 

who in their right mind could ever love you. the statement made shuni’s grin grow tenfold. because it was a true statement , someone would have to be some sort of fucked up to ever love them. but with the sight of the color on her cheek, so red that it put her own name to shame, they wanted nothing more to just laugh in her face. “ someone fucked up i guess...” shuni couldn’t help but come closer. their large hands moving to grip her chin to force her to look up at them. “ someone like you, huh ?? ’m right aren’ i ?? ”

Todd slammed the door behind him as he walked out onto the small balcony that was attached to his and Ira’s apartment. The creak of the metal was grating and honestly, it was the best he could afford for them. Ira worked too, tutoring kids at school and various other things, but Todd worked the most. 3 jobs, all of which he hated, just to keep them from being on the streets. 

Unfortunately, Scarlet had been there in the middle of one of Ira’s outbursts of frustration with him. Things had been tense between them, and when he offered Scarlet a place to stay for a few nights, giving up his spot on the couch for a spot on the floor to make it work, Ira had lost it. 

They fought –– loudly, like they always did –– and Todd stormed out of there, pulling Scarlet with him literally just so that no one tried to strangle anyone. 

“Fucking ignore her. I don’t give I shit I pay the rent, you can stay.”
