CopeIdentity
A trauma response where your emotions are so intense and so different from each other that they esssentially feel like their own people, largely due to identity confusion [especially in bpd or dissociative disorders]
You may give them separate names or pronouns that u yourself may also use or give them entirely unique ones. you may use fictional characters that u relate to as well as they simply describe those emotional states better.
They aren't literal separate identities like in OSDDID, for singlets there is a core/original.
Important note[s]
- this isnt a system thing, i specifically coined it as my experiences felt too similar but after a bit i was sure i wasnt a system.
- by proxy this is N O T an endo term, endos dni in general?? This isn't a syscourse blog and I am not a system, but I am putting a boundary in place, case closed.
- copeid shifts can feel dissociative, while you're still one entity u can fully feel like separate entities.
FAQ
"Do I need bpd to have copeids" so long you experience identity confusion, you can use this term. If you don't i think polyminded fits better
"Is this not just polyminded" yeah I uh didn't know polyminded was a term, and even then no since copeid REQUIRES identity confusion
[Reposted BY the coiner, I made this term I own @coiningdogblog]
