i find the discourse about people who 'kin for fun' kinda funny cuz like... i'm part of a system and we all have totally different ideas about what kinning is to us, like for me, some kins are past lives, some are for coping, some are a strong connection and some are just for fun, while another system member feels more like they share a soul with their kintypes, while another kins partially for fun and partially to help gain a sense of personal identity, while another just identifies as being fictional, which another is a semi-fictive of an oc that i didn't even know existed. like!! were a whole mixed bag here!! so it's kinda funny seeing people pitting kinnies against each other cuz it's like lmao, couldn't be us [#🗝🚪🎮🌃🌂]
people who kin for fun are valid but they should use the words for it. fictionkin + otherkin are for spiritual beliefs / reincarnation moreso, fictionhearted + otherhearted is for identifying with a Character / animal, and coping link is choosing to kin to cope with something. there's terms for a reason
also to add to this? people who get mad over exotrauma are stupid. there's a reason why we call it "exotrauma" and talk about it as a separate experience than "normal" trauma. it's a completely separate word for a reason???
