It's Thursday and I feel drained as all hell but at least two worries are off my plate. We made bonus last quarter at work, so I am in a better financial standing than I thought I was. (Had to help Mom with a bill last month that took a nice chunk out of my account.) Still going to be pinching pennies a bit until next paycheck but that's fine.

Also, the extension on my FMLA got approved. Until next February for some reason but okay, at least I won't have to worry about dealing with the paperwork headache again. The people who handle medical leave for my employer can be A Lot to deal with. I was back at work for two whole weeks before they approved my medical leave for the seven weeks I was out in 2022 for semi-emergency surgery.

Still scratching my head a bit about the February end date when the doctor put a vague August end date but whatever. Now I just have to tell myself to stop feeling guilty about taking so much time off from work. It's not like I'm taking the time off for fun. Appointment days are exhausting, what with the four hour round trip drivetime, and I don't get paid for the time I take off.

...I was going somewhere with this but I just woke up from a nap and lost track of the ramble direction.

Story Time With Copper: Maryllian Creation

HEY GUYS so yall might remember a while ago i posted about my imaginary country, well i’m gonna do so again but THIS TIME with Maryllian mythology!!!

every ancient culture has their creation story, and Maryllia is no exception.

A long time ago, the earth used to just be a barren wasteland of dirt and dust. Well, the Earth Mother, her wife, and their daughter looked at this lifeless rock and decided to try to help. So the Mother planted a life giving kiss upon the ground, and from her touch sprung new plant life, spreading quickly across the land.

Her wife was so happy to see the once lifeless planet teeming with growth, that she wept tears of joy-- so much so that it flooded the place and created all the oceans, lakes, rivers, streams and whatever else.

Finally, they decided the planet needed something more. So, their daughter presented them with all the little figures she had made, and the Earth Mother planted a kiss on each of them, and released them into the newly grown wilds of the once barren planet. And finally, she was presented with the figure of a human, which she again happily kissed and let go onto the earth.
