Gluten Free Afternoon Tea
Spent the afternoon at the surprisingly very empty Copthorne Hotel, Huntly Street, Aberdeen with my mother for afternoon tea.
The surroundings were pleasant and the staff very helpful. I was delighted when they came with a complete three tier cake stand with a true bounty of Gluten Free goodies. So often I’m disappointed when I go out to dine, but I have to say that this time I was wonderfully surprised and I ate everything they set out for me. I highly recommend and will most definitely be back. Five stars for the Gluten Free menu, staff and surroundings, hopefully a bit more atmosphere next time and there will be an next time.
Update Took a trip here with work recently, still empty despite being midweek lunchtime. The seven of us ordered afternoon tea and the contrast from the last time I had visited was enormous. Let's just say that few of us were happy and I felt rather let down after recommending them. We were not given a choice of the sandwich selection and although I'm gluten and dairy free I also am not meant to have shellfish and they gave me prawns. One of my colleagues is vegetarian and she also had salmon and egg on her plate both of which she hates. Not good guys. Should have asked what we wanted when we sat down.
