Newt kept his head down, as he always did when speaking with most people, especially Severus Snape. He was unsure what had gained him the disdain of the Potions Master this time, but a glimmer of defiance glistened in his eyes nonetheless, raising his gaze ever so slightly.
He only mumbled to himself, not expecting Severus to even be listening, barely paying attention to the other man’s words himself.
“Tell that to Alice...”
Alice was the hippogriff that he had had to wrestle to the ground just days prior, him gaining quite a nasty gash in the process. And not to be too brash, but he was pretty sure the other man could not wrestle a hippogriff to the ground with his bare hands.
Newt would probably try to stop that anyhow.
