(4/15) Day 1: Name - Is there any meaning behind their name? @thearcanaweek
Kihari Yuuko (middle; brown w/pink highlights)
Kihari - It is an anagram for the Japanese word HIKARI [光] meaning “light”. Name is in a Japanese pronunciation [Key-ha-lē]. This is also the name that I often tend to use in most mobile games. Named after my original character, ‘Kihari the Tavakean’ (which I still have yet to work on/dropped atm).
Yuuko - Originally from the Japanese word YUKO [優子] meaning “gentle child”. Added with an additional “u” in the middle. Its also a reference to the first and last characters of my mother and grandmother’s name, Yumiko and Yukiko, respectively.
Corbin Bingley (left; gray)
Corbin - The Latin word for “Raven”. Inspired by the idea of coming up with the name relating to “shadow”, “darkness”, or other words that contrasts to Kihari’s original name meaning (also as another way to reference their polar opposite personalities).
Bingley - An English origin name of the town in West Yorkshire, English. I originally thought about using a different catchy sounding surname, however, this sounds more fitting to his England background and the British accent I thought of him using when sporting on with his many personas.
Silch Vargas (right; blonde)
Silch - Nothing, literally nothing (and I do not mean this as a reference to the pronoun word ZILCH which means “nothing”, lmfao). This is actually an old name that my middle/high school friend had created and used for a character of hers with this fandom story profile thing we were working on for fun. Based off of my friend who is/was a bookworm and loved to write (fanfict) stories, which is also what Silch loves to do.
Vargas - A Spanish/Portuguese topographic name for a “hut”, “steep slope/hillside”, or a “fenced pasture land” (i’m not entirely sure, just basing it off of what I found). The meaning is a reference to Silch’s family home environment and background.
