i'd ask all the numbers but for now i'll keep myself to 1, 3, and 9, specifically asking about box smith (there are so many cute images aaah)

1: What does their bedroom look like?

a little messy

3: Do they exercise, and if so, what do they do? How often?

walking from his home to work is about the most exercise he gets, along with running away from most mishaps involving him. he doesn’t practice his box-crafting skills as much as he should

9: Makeup?

nah. he did let PF practice on him once or twice when they were little though

NO!!!

true, i love how developed chauplat has become and it's definitely something that i am proud of.

but by no means am i planning on continuing/rebooting/doing anything with coreblight's story. it was an experimental effort that was WAAAAY too huge in scope and too far along to tone it down. that's not to say i regret it though, it was a lot of fun! but it would have taken at least a decade to tell the whole story. i can't keep a constant stream of motivation for that long.

however! there may be a future story in the works involving the district bosses. no idea on a premise yet, nor a specific time. but pretty much the same setting. it won't have BS, PF, and CC though, this would be a totally separate story from coreblight. i want to avoid the haphazard mess coreblight started to become, for sure.

if it DOES become a story, it'll be done after stellio cross. i want to get at least 1 good, complete forum adventure out of me before i start backtracking on old characters and ideas.

THIS IS A BIG DEMAND BUT REALLY I'D LIKE TO HAVE A SUMMARY OF HOW THE PLOT WAS GONNA GO

so we were going to meet all 7 of the other bosses of course. from there, some events would happen that would eventually lead up to Box Smith and Parchment Filer escaping from Chauplat without harm, and reach the surface! that part probably would have been the End of Tape 2 flash.

Tape 3 would have started with total chaos erupting in Chauplat, due to everyone somehow discovering that they too were trapped inside a city inside a moon. they would have all been gathered by the 9 district bosses into the communal hall to form a plan of action. meanwhile, BS and PF would have discovered some type of laboratory on the surface. remember the Admi? they made that. remember every citizen in Chauplat? they made those too, in that very lab. the theme of coreblight was going to become creator vs. creation. i really wish i had figured that out earlier but oh well.

Tape 3 would have ended with the duo blasting off toward that huge blue planet, the citizens of Chauplat facing off against the Admi (they’re responsible for the eclipses and those big circular ship dealies too!), and that’s as far as i got

i had no idea how it was going to end. maybe some heroic sacrifice? i dunno, i really should have figured that out BEFORE starting coreblight in the first place. but that’s the way it goes, i guess. onto much more developed and thought-out projects!

all 12 or so of you

Do you have a yearning to create your own Chauplatian kid??? Are you totes excited for the walkaround I pretty much confirmed was happening about a month ago, and want to help make this project NOT drag on into 2013? Well now you can, and the kid you create can be featured in the upcoming walkaround itself! If you're interested, keep reading! Otherwise, feel free to scroll past this somewhat lengthy post with wild abandon.

First off, here is a handy cheat sheet for creating your own kid!

Secondly, there are a fair bit of rules for creating a kid that will fit within the canon:

(no squidkids. as awesome as they would be, CC is a bit of a special case, BUT MORE ON THAT LATER, any other species in that list is totally fine)

You're going to want to think of what their occupation is when they grow older while designing your kid, so you don't EXPLICITLY have to include an occupation, but you can! They'll be able to show off at least a couple of their given traits and abilities at the ripe age of a few dustings old.

Don't worry too much about colors, all you really have to decide on is an eye color (can be ANY color ever), everything else is in grayscale, but you can give that gray a very slightly blue or purplish hue if you want.

They CAN wear shirts/suspenders/whatever, it's just that BS chooses not to wear anything that covers his upper body.

The number on their handkerchief can be pretty much any number! The letter suffix is basically sibling number, in order of age/dominance. So since lizards are almost always hatched in clutches of only 2, BS's brother's number is clearly 333A. Any of the other species can have pretty much any letter though.

You CAN design an avian kid too, just know that almost ALL of them wear eyewear of some kind.

That's basically all you need to know about designing them, just have fun with it!

Technical stuff:

Here are a few examples of what I'm aiming for with the talksprites!

The talksprites can face either left or right, it really doesn't matter. Each has to have two frames, both have to differ, I'm assuming you guys know how .gifs work. The size of each of these can be anywhere from roughly 100x100 to 250x250 pixels at the very most.

Additionally, the more talksprites you create, the more dialogue I can give your kid in the walkaround! Because y'know, can't really get too far with just a basic 2-frame talking sprite.

The overworld sprites can be as big or as tall as 64x64, babby!BS is about 32x32 pixels in comparison 

Same deal with the overworld sprites: The more overworld sprites you provide, the more I can work with. You can either go all out and do all 12 walking frames as show above, or you can simply do  4 frames, one for each cardinal direction.

Now, you have 3 options here (if you're even still reading this after all that text). You can:

Create both your kid's talksprites AND overworld sprites for them (preferable and I will love you forever for it)

Create just your kid's talksprites and leave me to create the overworld sprites for them (I'll still love you, just y'know not as much)

Create only a basic sketch of your kid and leave me to make both talksprites and overworld sprites for them :C (it's still very much appreciated)

possible coreblight walkaround

hey! would you guys be interested in a SHORT walkaround segment in a future (as in, within the next 2 or 3 updates) coreblight update?

this could be a good time to build up a basic engine that'll work with the adventure itself and probably be used in updates much farther in the future without having to fuss about the technical stuff when those updates happen. although it'd definitely take a while to create, it'd definitely add some depth to this otherwise simple flashback arc we're about to go through. but honestly, i'm gonna need your guys' opinion on if you'd be up for walkaround now, later, or even ever!
