Corectopia and polycoria of the iris stroma
Corectopia is a condition characterized by a displaced pupil.
You can't mess with perfection.
There have been many people who have seen fringe and come to the conclusion that John's right eye is actually a special effect of the show...this is an embarrassing mistake. I'm actually ashamed to bring this subject up because I have nothing but veneration for this man. I don't want to spread gossip, but I DO want to clear the dust.
John had a corneal laceration in his right eye which healed into a slightly peaked pupil (Corectopia). Think up-side-down tear drop. The shiny, beautiful flicker that occurs in his eye could be brought on by a number of things. Most likely, he had to have an artificial lens.
In some of the movies made prior to Fringe, you will see more evidence of the damage...
What happened to his eye? I have theories but none are conclusive. All I know is that he is just as beautiful as he always has been. Every month, he's becoming more and more wonderful.
