Elias Bouchard woke precisely at 6:15 am, sitting up and swiping away the phone alarm before it could wake the man sleeping next to him. He sat in the dark fr several moments, before getting up, the satin sheets falling away from his naked body as he padded barefoot to the bathroom.

He flicked the lightswitch and after blinking away the light blindness, he leaned in over the marble sink and stared at his face in the mirror.

He needed a shave, and his skin had seen better days, but this new body was much younger than the other one had been when he vacated it, and its beauty was evident in the high cheekbones and full lips. He tried out a smile, and though it still didn’t look quite right on his face, that was simply only because in all the time Elias had known him, Jonathan Sims rarely smiled.
