I want to write a fanfic but instead I'm sitting at my evil office doing my evil work
I cut my own hair at home and now it's giving a mix between poodle and 80s rockstar
Today went something like missed my alarm got woken up by my cat rushed to the bakery to pick up my order rushed to work cause I was late arrived five minutes early delivered the baked goods to my coworkers had some cake as part of a very very late birthday party (mine) took part in a three-hour meeting (felt like five hours) had lunch at 4 in the afternoon organized things for my coworkers to handle next week left work rushed to take french exam (did alright) left uni and ended up at the cafe in the movie theater waiting for my mom to finish watching a movie
How to find out why a character is your favorite blorbo:
Have a mental breakdown in the first week of the year; finally admit it to yourself that your family has been abusive towards you for years; convince yourself not to do something you might regret (repeat this step about five times); make an appointment with your therapist; start looking for a new place to live, a job, a new name; cry a lot; realize that your fanfiction about Tim Drake moving out, cutting off his family, and slowly healing was about you all along.
Can't believe I finally get to change my blog description from "I'm a journalism student" to "I'm a journalist" fuck yeah
Update
Hello dearest followers, it is I, Coren, coming back to deliver an update most important regarding my works "Fellow Traveler", "After" and the Destiny 2 one-shot series, as well as some other stuff I'll be working on.
Some of you already know I haven't been updating these works because of college. I'm currently on my last week, meaning that I'll present my undergraduate thesis this Friday and, if everything goes well, I'll no longer be a university student and will become simply an unemployed person.
That's why I'll be publishing my first ever novel. This project is still a secret, but I'll probably talk about it when it's closer to being published. I'm also applying to my University's Masters Degree Program, which means I might go back to being busy as heck, but that's a problem for future me.
In between publishing my book, trying to get a masters degree and keeping myself alive while being a freelancer, I'll work on Fellow Traveler, After and the Destiny stuff.
"Fellow Traveler" is currently my main priority, 'cause I have most of it planned, but the next chapter needs editing, and the last few chapters have yet to be written. "After" is my second priority, but it needs more work, which I might explain in a separate post (if I remember to write it).
The Destiny one-shot series is low priority because its format allows me to write and post fairly quickly, and also because I technically have a lot of chapters ready, but they need finer editing and organization (to guarantee continuity) and I'll do that when I have more free time available.
Basically, you can expect one (or maybe two, who knows?) new chapter in Fellow Traveler within the next month. Other updates will come soon, and feel free to ask me anything you want to know about any of my works in the meantime.
Hey guess who has polls now?
Will Coren post the new chapter of Fellow Traveler next week?
Yes
No
Yes, but it'll be last minute because of who they are as a person
Partial book review of Gallant, by V. E. Schwab
The book club I'm in is currently reading Gallant, by V. E. Schwab and, boy, I'm loving it
I honestly didn't expect to like it so much. I just noticed a lot of people I talk to were reading V. E. Schwab all of a sudden and her books started appearing on reading lists and the "popular books" shelf at the local book shops (also the covers of her books are stunning and, I won't lie, I was drawn to them even before I knew the club would choose one of her books).
It's been a while since I read a book with horror undertones that made me feel something. I consider myself to be kinda desensitized to horror stories because I read so many of them, but reading about Olivia finding out about the mystery beyond the gates of Gallant actually managed to trigger my anxiety a bit (That's a good thing btw. I don't mind a little anxiety, it's fine so long as it means the book is making me feel something).
I was a little behind everyone else (the idea was to read 4 chapters a day and finish the book on December 30th) but I got pretty far today and am currently reading chapter 21, so I'm getting to the good part. Hopefully the book will surprise me a few more times before the end…
