[:nl]Zoals ik natuurlijk al ruim van tevoren wist heeft Peter “L3p” Brands de felbegeerde eerste plaats veroverd in de Thermaltake invitational 2016 seizoen 1. hehehe, Uiteraard wist ik dit niet, maar ik hoopte er wel op en hoewel de competitie best nog fel gestreden werd met een aantal zeer mooie en interessante mods, heeft hij de eerste plaats toch netjes verdiend. Er word in de wandelgangen een hoop gefluisterd over dat hij alleen gewonnen zou hebben wegens zijn overweldigende voorsprong in stemmen van het publiek. En ja hij had best veel stemmen, maar hij is dan momenteel ook een van de werelds meest bekende / gewilde modders dus dat mensen op hem stemmen is niet helemaal gek.
Ali Abbas heeft de tweede plaats ingenomen met zijn “Piracy and Prophecy” waarvan de hoeveelheid en kwaliteit van de details gewoon duizelingwekkend is. Vooral als je bedenkt dat het hier gaat om handwerk, waar Ali Abbas zijn lezers ook heel wat op gewezen heeft gedurende zijn worklog. En ja dat was een commentaar, zoals ik het las in zijn worklog leek het alsof hij de andere modders minder vond omdat zij machines gebruiken in plaats van net als hij handwerk te leveren. Nou elke modder heeft zijn ding, en het jouwe is Handwerk Ali Abbas, ontneem de modders niet hun eigen manier van werken, en veroordeel ze er ook niet op!
Corey Gregory zijn “Tie P5 Advanced” behaalde de derde plaats en als StarWars fan kan ik zeggen dat deze Mod een zeer mooie replica is geworden van de Tie Advanced uit de films. De hoeveelheid tijd dat Corey heeft besteed aan het bouwen van dit Monster is gewoon te gek te noemen. De grootte van deze mod is ook buitengewoon en dat is ook direct de reden dat dit niet mijn favoriet is geworden, het is gewoon te onpraktisch zo groot. De Kampioen is geworden: Peter “L3P” Brands. Zijn “TT Desk” heeft zelfs voor deze klaar was al heel wat aandacht gekregen van het wereldwijde publiek. Nu weet ik persoonlijk dat Peter erg goed is met Social Media, en zijn vriendelijke aard maakt het alleen maar makkelijker voor bezoekers om meer naar zijn mods te kijken. Maar de meeste aandacht gedurende het bouwen van deze mod ging toch echt naar iets geheel onverwachts. Namelijk zijn Asus Monitor, of om precies te zijn, het geprojecteerde Logo dat uit de voet van de monitor straalt. Normaal schijnt dit logo op je bureau, maar wat Peter ontdekte was dat het effect heel wat anders werd in geval van een glazen bureau! En dit is zelfs Asus opgevallen die er direct een heuse stortvloed mee ontketende op social media, van facebook tot twitter overal kwam het voorbij. Maar het was niet alleen dit logo wat de aandacht kreeg, toen Peter namelijk een Stormtrooper als achtergrond liet zien op een van zijn foto’s, versprong de aandacht direct naar die achtergrond, en ik durf te wedden dat velen diezelfde achtergrond nu gebruiken. (ikzelf ben er in elk geval schuldig aan) Alle stiekeme teasers die hij her en der dropte gaf je het gevoel van verwachting, je wilde gewoon niet wachten tot hij de build eindelijk af had en hem liet zien. Vooral de teaser die gebruik maakte van de reflectie in de L3p-Tou werd groots onthaald, ikzelf heb zelfs die foto uitvergroot om zoveel mogelijk van de details te proberen te zien. En toch waren er ook mensen die niet de ware Teaser zagen in die foto… Zijn TT Desk werd ook gefeatured in en op vele Tech video’s en websites zelfs al voor hij tot winnaar bestempeld was. Dit hielp natuurlijk ook mee met het creëren van zo’n enorme fanbase die op zijn build gestemd heeft. Een zeer verdiende eerste plaats voor deze TT Desk, en niet enkel voor de build maar ook voor de verantwoordelijke Modder, Congratz Peter!
Tijdens deze competitie heeft Thermaltake zijn best gedaan om interactie met de bezoekers te krijgen, door middel van giveaways en prijzen heeft Thermaltake geprobeerd zoveel mogelijk aandacht voor deze wedstrijd te krijgen. Uiteraard is dit goed voor Thermaltake en alle Sponsoren maar ook de winnaars van de diverse goodies zullen niet ontevreden zijn geweest. Ikzelf heb een Riing RGB 240 AIO cooler gewonnen met de “comments” terwijl ik niet eens wist dat je prijzen kon winnen met comments, dus ik was wel blij verrast :) Naast de comments kon je ook mooie dingen winnen met het Stemmen en met het voorspellen van de winnaar. Dus mocht je nu niet zo goed hebben opgelet tijdens deze competitie raad ik je aan bij het volgende seizoen toch wel op te letten!

Bewaren[:en]As i ofcourse already knew way earlier, Peter “L3p” Brands won the coveted first place in the Thermaltake Invitational 2016 Season 1. Hehehe i didn’t really know this, but i did hope for it, and eventhough the competition was fierce with a bunch of nice and interresting mods, he still earned that first place! There’s whispers and gossip saying he only won because of the landslide in votes he received from the public. And yes, he did have a mountain of votes, but he is in fact one of the most famous and sought after modders in the world, so that people voted for him, shouldn’t come as a surprise.
Ali Abbas came in second place with his “Piracy and Prophecy” ofwhich the sheer amount of quality and details is just incomprehensable. Especially if you concider the fact that this is all done by hand, ofwhich Ali Abbas made his readers painfully aware during his worklog entries. And yes that was a comment, the way i read it in his worklog it seemed asthough he thought less of the other modders because they used machines instead of doing it all by hand like he did. Each modder has his own thing in which he’s perfect, Yours, Ali Abbas, is handcrafted marvels. Don’t take away from other modders and don’t judge them for their own ways of working!
Corey Gregory took third place with his “Tie P5 Advanced”. And as a Starwars fan i can say this has become a very nice replica of the Tie Advanced from the movies. The amount of time Corey spent building this monster is simply insane. The size of this mod is exceptional and that is also the reason why this hasn’t become my personal favorite, it’s magnitude is just to unpractical a size. The champion became: Peter “L3p” Brands! His “TT Desk” got worldwide attention even before it was fully finished. I personally know Peter is very good with social media, and his friendly nature only makes it easier for viewers and readers to want to learn more about his mods. But most of the attention during the build of this mod went to something entirely unexpected. Namely his Asus Monitor, or to be exact, the projected logo that beams out of the monitor stand. Normally this logo shines onto your desk, but what Peter found was that this effect becomes something entirely new when used on a glass desk! This discovery was noticed even by Asus who turned it into a complete media frenzy! It didn’t take long for the photo’s of Peter’s TT Desk with the projected logo to take oversocial media, it got many viewers on Facebook, Twitter and all other social media. but it wasn’t just this logo that got the attention, When Peter decided to show a progress photo inwhich he used a Stormtrooper Background on that same monitor, the attention jumped onto that background image. I’m willing to bet that alot of his readers are now using that same background on their computer desktops. (I know i am guilty of this myself) All the sneaky little teasers he dropped here and there gave you a sense of expectation, you just couldn’t wait for the finished mod. Especially the teaser inwhich he used the L3p-Tou to reflect a view onto the desk was viewed by lots of people with amazement. I myself enlarged that photo just so i could see as much detail of the build as i could. And still there were those that didn’t notice the reflection teaser… His TT Desk was featured in and on alot of Tech Video’s and websites even before he got named as the winner. This ofcourse helped creating that huge fanbase which voted for this build. This First place for the TT Desk is well earned, not just for the build but for the responsible modder aswell, Congratz Peter!
During this competition Thermaltake did it’s best to get visitor interaction, by using giveaways and prizes Thermaltake tried to get as much attention for this competition as they possibly could. Ofcourse this is good for Thermaltake and all the sponsors, but the winners of al the goodies won’t be displeased either. I myself won a Riing RGB 240 AIO cooler with “comments” eventhough i didn’t even know there were prizes to be won with just commenting, so i was happily surprised :) Besides the comments you could also win lots of nice things with the voting and predicting of the winner. So if you haven’t paid alot of attention to this competition i advise you to do so during the next season!
