terrible idea. have a half-baked draft i saved the other day

sometimes i remember that the entire underlying theme of bsd beast is how strong platonic love is. how dazai's love for oda and akutagawa's love for gin and kyouka's love for atsushi were all strong enough to change the narrative and turn the world inside out. none of the main characters are motivated by romantic love; it's all because of their siblings and their friends. and it's so so important to understand that or else you've completely missed the point of beast (and one of the main themes of bsd in general) altogether.

1) What made you start shipping them?

So I knew they were a thing when I was first getting into mp100, even before meeting seri, but then I met this soggy guy who was scared of everything and had huge power and no idea how to wield it and is very openly kind and then I looked over at reigen who won't admit he's scared of anything and is soggy and has no powers but a great ability to wield them nonetheless and doesn't know how to admit that he's kind and. Yeah.

2) What's your favorite thing about them?

Idk actually lol i like that they're not super young (30 is still young but it's shounen and fandom and they're not kids so), and I really enjoy how despite serizawa desperately trying to recreate that boss/subordinate dynamic (bc that's all he knows how to do), reigen a) doesn't really let him all that much and b) still respects him as an autonomous and intelligent person

3) Unpopular opinion?

I have. No clue lol. Probably not an unpopular opinion just not a common one but i am also a shimarei believer. I do think they like hooked up a few times (maybe even had a whole thing idk) during the serirei pining stage bc reigen didn't know how to cope with his feelings. Yes reigen is ace yes he fucked that man no he will not explain (he was experiencing The Yearning but you couldn't waterboard that out of him) (teru has tried)
