my futile wish is for people to understand that "sex scenes in movies/TV don't have to serve the plot and can genuinely just be for pleasure" and "sex-repulsed people are allowed to complain about how rare it is for media made for adults like them to be something they can enjoy completely" are both true statements. unfortunately society hates both sex and people who don't like sex, so everyone gets far too defensive about any sex or lack thereof in fiction to actually have this conversation

“I didn’t realise you owned so many,” Mina says as she browses through Denki’s (embarrassingly thick) collection of classic literature. “Are they all just books?”

“Some are plays,” he replies, pointing to an example.

“Eh, it’s a foreign copy! You can read this?”

“Um… kind of?” It’s more like Denki was so obsessed with the translated version of this particular play that he bought the original copy just to have it. But he also can, in fact, read it. Just a little.

“That’s super cool, dude,” Kirishima says, and Denki flushes under the easy compliment. He’s not usually the one to be praised. It’s a nice feeling.

“Would you have studied literature if you didn’t choose to be a hero?” Mina asks with a curious tilt of her head.

“Maybe?” That’s a loaded question. Denki might have many seeds of doubt sown into himself, but he also never thought of an alternative to being a hero. It was succeed or fail, and there was no plan b.

In another world, though, he thinks pursuing this hobby of his might not be so bad.
