I was tagged by itsalovestorydarling around a month ago, but I never saw the message! Thank you, though. I love these things. :) Here we go….
Rules: In a text post, list 10 books that have stayed with you in some way. Don’t take but a few minutes, and don’t think too hard - they don’t have to be the “right” or “great” works, just the ones that have touched you.
Tag 10 friends, including me, so I’ll see your list. Make sure you let your friends know you’ve tagged them!
Pride and Prejudice by Jane Austen (It never gets old.)
Love Comes Softly by Janette Oke (This was one of the first romance novels I ever read, and I've always loved it.)
Cantar de Mío Cid by Anonymous (I don't know why I love this one so much, but El Cid is forever my hero.)
Les Trois Mousquetaires by Alexandre Dumas (Athos is my favorite mousquetaire… in case you're wondering.)
The Princess Diaries by Meg Cabot (I loved these books as a kid/teen and still do.)
The Secret Garden by Frances Hodgson Burnett (Favorite childhood book.)
Hamlet by Shakespeare (I know this is not technically a book, but we're going to count it as one since I've never actually even seen a stage performance of Hamlet.)
In Cold Blood by Truman Capote (I did not want to read this; it was assigned reading for class. At first I hated it because of the way it played with my emotions, but then my teacher asked me if books that didn't make us feel something were worth reading at all. I realized then it was one of the best things I had ever read.)
The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain (I think no book is more profound on the subject of tolerance… and yet this one is far too often overlooked because of the satirical use of a racial slur.)
Saint Francis by Nikos Kazantzakis (This is kind of a weird one, but it is such a challenging work spiritually, I cannot help but love it.)
