when athena and bobby's house is rebuilt, there should be a scene where someone walks in on them celebrating a la the sexy firefighter incident of s5
do you ever think about the fact that neither maddie nor chimney really had a consistent parent in their life? they never really had a parent that was present enough to consistently remind them that they weren't alone. they weren't able to be reassured that they were cared for, that they were loved without conditions.
even when howie found solace in the lees and kevin, he was still buried under the weight of his father's disappointment and disapproval. maddie had to become a parent to her younger brother instead of having one there for herself to walk her through life's hard moments. yet, she had to carry their huge secret with her for her entire life.
but now they have jee yun.
jee who will never know that kind of pain, that kind of intense pressure. jee will never have to question whether her parents love her or care for her. she will grow up surrounded by love and care and warmth. she will be safe in the knowledge that she can always go to her parents for help.
yes, they'll probably have all the classic family dramas and miscommunications since that is the way the world works. jee (and the new baby) will probably be upset that her father's schedule is so erratic. she might find out about her mom leaving as a newborn and not understand it!! however, she will know she can ask questions. she'll know that her parents will have an honest conversation because they love and trust her.
she'll understand that her parents are flawed people, but that they are good people as well as good parents.
most importantly, she'll know she can walk away because she'll always have a place to come home to. she will always have a safe space in the arms of her parents.
personally, i think about that a lot.
the way bobby said "well, tell her you're not" after buck told him "she thinks i'm satan" had the same energy as when he told michael "well like him back" in oceans 9-1-1 and that makes my heart happy
and if i say icemav princess bride au
next, i need to see aisha directing an athena-centric episode. i would love to see how she'd tackle athena's perspective
"just picture yourself as the reader whether or not you're really like that" yes but also can i not have to picture myself as white for once
I think my favorite part about top gun maverick is how often they make miles teller crouch so tom cruise can look taller
