Jo has picked out the perfect wine from the collection, A Coriole (McLaren Vale South Australia) Piquepoule. Soft delicate almost salty taste, recommended for seafood but compliments spicy food nicely. 2020 vintage so a little bit more age helped tame down any sharpness. Curry puffs, stir fry prawns with basil and cashews and massaman curry.

Coriole Barbera, McLaren Vale 2012 $25

Deep red-purple, bright colour. Subdued but true aromas, ripe and clean with some density and latency. The same on palate: full-bodied and firm, deep and structured with very good flavour, depth and concentration. Very good indeed, with real grunt and backbone. Excellent wine, long and bright with good primary fruit as well as savouriness and structure. Now to 2025. 14 per cent alcohol. 92/100 (Huon's Wine 360)
