As an Irish person, I have two moods.

1. Corkeus

2. Hozier

I keep seeing people on Tiktok obsessing over the Irish Orpheus in the West End Hadestown cast, about how much longing there is in his voice. It reminds me of Kate Bush saying she chose to sing 'Army Dreamers' an Irish accent because there's just something so 'vulnerable and poetic' about it.

And then Irish people are calling him Corkeus because all we hear is the Cork accent

I genuinely cant get over Dónal switching from his head voice to chest voice in Chant (Hadestown) so effortlessly. It’s ethereal, even erie. Perfectly illustrates his hand in both the world of muses and of humans.

Also, I never hear many people talk about Grace’s voice!! Sharp as a whistle…never faltering until the moment calls for it, whereas Dónal generally begins to stutter and have to gather himself right before he belts!
