Blood Meridian or the Evening Redness in the West, Chapter 5
charcoal, pastel on paper, 2022
The Kid never had a name. His face was never described in detail in the book. He is an impersonal figure that combines the features of many young people of that time. If someone were to create an animated project based on this book, I think it would be cool not to show his face in its entirety. However, this is just an idea :)
School assignment where we had to redesign book covers for books in a specific genre. I picked American gothic!!! I love experiencing New World horrors!!!
my chosen books were the House of the Seven Gables, We Have Always Lived in a Castle, Clock Without Hands, and Blood Meridien. I inked everything by hand, hand lettered, and colored digitally.

A spontaneous illustration and the first version from a sketchbook. I wanted to repeat this blood stain, but in the end it always looks more beautiful and natural on paper
