#tbt to my first ever cover illustration! During my time at Cornell, I volunteered to work on the Cornell Daily Sun Magazine, called INSIDE, and I was commissioned to create the cover image (before, I had pitched them the idea LOL) and here is the result. When I presented them the ink sketches (next image) they kindly suggested me I should be more racially inclusive in my depiction of the students. It was my first exposure to PC. Coming from a little city in Spain I hadn’t been exposed to that yet. It was a big learning experience on diversity, in all grounds actually. Cornell Daily Sun circa 1983

There was no digital, no megapixels, no interweb. We had Ilford, darkrooms, contact sheets, and x-acto knives. Somehow we managed to put out a paper 5 days per week. My small contribution to this great endeavor as photo editor 1983-84 is captured on this blog.
