Remembering the Cornfield Bomber
This is the remarkable story of the Cornfield Bomber, an errant F-106 Delta Dart interceptor from Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls, Montana that made landed in a wheat field outside of Big Sandy, Montana after the pilot had ejected from the airplane. The plane suffered only minor damage, was repaired, and returned to service. Upon the plane's retirement, it was presented to the National Museum of the United States Air Force where it remains on display.
